Brad Guzan sucks. He isn't good enough to make up for USA defensive lapses. When he is in, I ALWAYS think he will lose the match.. It always happens.
My first impression was Fabian went down to stop the USA possession. I feel terrible now, hes being carted off.
Meh this game is under Mexican control. I guess Iran gonna be counter attack city from now on. I guess with Pusilic's speed that's a decent tactic
Pretty ballsy by Bruce to field a lineup of mostly children. I looked at the starting 11 and said, "uh oh". They have played pretty well despite one screw up. Personally, I think Guzan should be able to block such a simple shot. Guzan is out there for last second Heartache..
Fair result - they should have had a red card in the first 5 minutes......might have changed the game completely. I am not a fan of bunkering in, but with us needing points, to steal one at Azteca is fine with me. DD
Both teams fans should be pissed. One team didn't want to play and the other team was sleepwalking. Personally I want my 2 hours back.
It was tactics, the USA bunkered in....they were playing straight counter attack - not something that I like, and Mexico did ok, just hard to break down 9 behind the ball. DD
I've never dozed off during a MEX vs USA match. I did midway 2nd half that's how boring this game was. Both teams get a point but all the fans lose imo. Boring match for a "classico" imo. One team deploying the WW2 bunker and the other team seemingly disinterested, sleepwalking, playing like they don't want to get hurt before Russia in a few days. At the end of the day, fans lose.
