Tucker will get a September callup, when the roster size expands. McCullers will also miraculously heal by September 1.
Both Bregman and Springer each went about 80 at bats before hitting their first home runs. Meanwhile Singleton hit one in his major league debut.
The secret is to suck early. JR Towles hit .375/.432/.575 with only 1K in his 44PAs in his September call up. The one strikeout came against Octavio Dotel pitching for the Braves (which he barely had time to unpack his suitcase as he was only with them for a few weeks).
This is 2001 Barry Bonds level stuff (in AAA)... I think that’s 10 in his last 10 minor league games.
Before he was promoted to Tri-City, Ernesto Jaquez probably had the worst outing of his career as he allowed two earned runs in three innings in the GCL. Tonight in his ValleyCats debut, he allowed a hit, walked one, and struck out three in 3.1 scoreless innings.
Glad Tucker is hitting his stride. He is going to be a perennial all star when he gets a foothold in the MLB. Bregman, Correa, Springer, decimated AAA. Now Tucker is doing the same.... geesh Luhnow found a gem. 2015 draft is looking like an absolute coup by the Astros.... Bregman is already in MVP conversations.
Shut him down and just write this year off as a lost season. Give him extra time to get healthy and ready for 2019. He's got a real shot at making the rotation if he's what he's supposed to be.
Interesting choices. Looks like there will be loads of talent in the AFL this year so it’s a good chance for Dawson, Straw, Toro, and Thornton to generate some buzz and begin to move up a tier if they have some success.
I don't know about him being a perennial all star in the future but Kyle Tucker has turn himself as the best minor league player and not prospect with all due respect to Vlady Jr
Forrest Whitely is not going to be called up. This absolutely sucks, but it's on him by taking aderall and being suspended. My vision was him being up right now pitching and taking advice from Justin Verlander. Forrest really wasted his season. Really angry at MLB and Forrest.
Yeah, I was anticipating at the very least a September callup; but he derailed any momentum to his season with the suspension; and now the little annoying injuries. Hope he takes advantage of his time in the Arizona fall league.
Why are you really angry at MLB? Regardless of how you feel about their drug policies and punishments, it is incumbent upon the players to comply if they want to be professional players.
What happened on Friday: - Seth Beer went 3-6 with a two-run homer in Buies Creek's 14-1 win over Carolina. He now has four homers in the Carolina League and 11 across three levels in his pro debut. - Chad Donato recorded double-digit strikeouts for the third consecutive start. He allowed two hits and tied a career-high with 11 strikeouts. - Chandler Taylor went 3-4 with a solo homer (9) - Brett Daniels allowed a hit and struck out five over three scoreless innings for Tri-City; Shawn Dubin struck out three over two perfect innings to finish off a 5-0 win. - A.J. Reed hit his 28th home run for Fresno; Alex De Goti hit his first AAA homer, giving him 12 between Corpus and Fresno
Well, he’s injured and hasn’t been great when he’s pitched. Not sure why you’d be mad at MLB. He took a banned substance and got busted. I hop they shut him down for the season and let him get healthy for the AFL. He’s got a great shot at making the rotation next season with at least 1 opening, if not 2.
