I counted 3 tipped balls by his own receiver, 1 where receiver fell down, and one where the receiver ran the wrong route. Also one was Malik Hooker being a badass. But still that's 5 of 17 not his fault, not that 12 INTs is too much better. Only 2 of them were him getting outsmarted and tricked which he took blame for. All but one game he still won the game and had some clutch drives right after.
The 2 against Troy were absolutely terrible and highlight some of the concerns about Watson. On the first interception, he just completely fails to read the defense properly and throws the ball into what is damn near triple coverage, the pass never had a chance. On the second interception he fails to throw the ball with enough zip on it to get it to his receiver before the DB can close the gap and make a play. If he throws the ball 2 or 3 MPH faster, it's a completion rather than an interception. In fairness, there were a few that weren't his fault, but of those that were his fault, most of them are just him failing to read the defense and serving up an interception on a platter.
Yea, I counted 12 that were his fault; some ran the wrong route and some were really good plays by the defense tipping the ball
There were a few that were a "grey area" that reminded me of Osweiler throwing to Nuk last season where the placement of the pass wasn't good and the WR tipped the ball up into the air causing the interception. They were bad passes, but the WR really causes the interception so there's blame to be given to both of them.
A confident passer who makes great throws frequently is going to make mistakes. What I like, is that the guy has an imagination and can throw people open.
Was he in the stands during the game? Forget chilling in the suites and watching the game on TV. Might as well stay home or go watch it at a restaurant/bar.
I thought I was his muscular ass in the stands!!! Yeah he was in the lower bowl right in the middle sections, no courtside seats yet. Y'all need to calm down with this sh**, every time someone is out walking around TC y'all wanna act like its the end of the world... people can socialize and still enjoy the game ya know. Jeez.
I asked because I didn't see or hear about it during or after the game. I would imagine if cameras would have panned to him at some point and fans would have had the chance to cheer on their new Texans QB. Maybe they did and I missed it. That's why I asked. This is my first post about it but it really is annoying when I watch on TV. The Salt Lake fans are in their seat jumping and screaming. The Raptors fans all stayed in their seats after their team got swept just to show appreciation. Warriors, Celtics, Thunder. Same thing. Turn on the game at Toyota Center and the lower bowl is only 3/4 full and it looks nothing like a playoff game. To each his own, but if I wanted to socialize and casually watch the game, I would have a watch party.
Problem is he was in the crowd so I don't think the camermen or even audience knew he was there. I still have the game DVR'd I think, tonight I may try to find the point where i spotted him. I'm telling you he looked like a normal ass dude in the stands, pretty cool of him if you ask me. As long as they're there and loud when it counts it doesn't bother me, no one is obligated to be in their seats for the entirety of the game. People, eat, drink, meet up with their friends it's called life.
Not to mention I had a friend at the game in San Antonio, said it was packed with Rockets fans. The first game, Spurs fans left and the whole crowd was cheering "lets go Rockets".. but yea, every other team has loyal fans and we suck....smh
Leaving after your team is being blown out in game 1 of a 7 game series is a different thing. Plus I never said it was only the Rockets fans that do it. I just said it was annoying, and I gave examples of other arenas where it doesn't seem to be a problem. I get it. Houston doesn't have crazy fans because of the make-up of the city.
Still can't get mad about how people want to watch the game.. I would gladly take some club seats. I love watching in the stands, but something about the luxury is appealing haha.
The moment the Texans drafted Watson they instantly became a legitimate quadruple threat team. Run game, passing game, mobile QB and defense. The play action is going to be a beast for us this season.
