    My house was soooo close to being flooded but temporarily let up. Small victory for me l, needed that

    That has the potential for more wind damage but this is way worse in terms of the water levels. During Ike I lived in a small garage Apt in the Woodland Heights and rode it out; at the worst I felt all 4 walls sway with strong wind gusts. Afterwards I felt like I had PTSD, shellshocked.

    Just got an email from Harris County Central Appraisal District. They're reclassifying my house as waterfront and doubling my appraised value. The email said any disputes could be handled in person via boat or hovercraft.

    My poor neighbors. Out of 6 of us on the block, 4 have been flooded. Their faces as we watch the news in my living room :(:(

    I hope Harvey has punched itself out for a bit, According to channel 13, 340-370 BILLION gallons of rainwater have been dumped on Harris County in the last 48 hours.
