i've donated as well to multiple orgs and will be going to local shelters in a bit where i can to donate some clothes, etc. hopefully you've donated to the houston orgs instead of big ones like the red cross, those will be far more beneficial. houston will bounce back!

I would check to make sure they need it. One problem in these type of things is donations that are needed and go unused end up causing more problems as often they end up taking up space for things that need to be used and in a shelter space is at a premium. Many of these donations just end up being thrown away.
