I believe Warren. He did look shaky up there and for good reason apparently, but he wasn't up to the crisis or the moment. Pause. Breathe. Fix it before it goes like it did. Faye just dove right in and took a bullet. They should put these Harvey and Beatty cards into the National museums of History. By the way, I may be the only person who laughed my ass off at Ishtar. That blind camel was hilarious.
How how how does that happen? For about three minutes we had fake news at the Oscars. It's the year of fake news.
Did Warren actually say who won? He looked at the envelope for a while and then handed it to Dunaway who I thought said La La Land. To Warrens credit he was doing his best - seems like producers ****ed up.
How do you open the envelope and you see Emma Stone though? I thought Warren was being charming, he was just having a stroke.
well that's a gut punch that's got to be hard to get over. although maybe it just makes you more famous for being in the controversy.
Warren Beatty blaming the card. Man, when you screw up like that, just apologize (or don't even take the mic back)...don't make excuses to blame someone else.
Dunaway was the one who said La La Land though. I blame Dunway. Warren was looking for someone to save him and Dunaway threw him under the bus!!
It was definitely the card because Faye read it. And at first u thought he was just stroking or old, but he really was looking for help. It really wasn't his goof. I think it was acceptable for him to try and explain it as it softened the blow. It would have been worse if he didn't say anything. Kimmel wasn't funny to me at all. no laughs. He's was real goat and the end put an exclamation on it.
Hahahahahaha. Amazing. Steve Harvey vindicated! On the real, though...props to that La La Land producer. Took a lot of graciousness by him to immediately stop his speech and congratulate Moonlight. He seemed genuinely happy for them even after all that.
on the plus side; you can't buy this kind of publicity for both films. Down side: A lot of common folk will watch Moonlight now that it's won ... and they'll HATE it.
As Kimmel correctly noted... it's just an award show. And they didn't actually win. So no reason to take credit for it
