On a 7 game hitting streak after 6 for 64 slump. Actually glad to see him struggle, showed that he can face some adversity, make adjustments, and get back into it.
BC 3B Randy Cesar has quietly had a pretty nice August; 895 ops. He hasn't had all that great of a season, with 105 wRC+ propped up by .385 BABIP as a 22 year old in High A, but he's probably done enough to start next season in AA, which will be a big opportunity for him.
QC 1B Troy Sieber is 10th in the Midwest League in wRC+ among players with >200 PA. TC C Mike Papierski has a 20.3% walk rate.
Hansel Paulino is 10th in the Appy league in FIP and 5th in k rate. Carlos Hiraldo is 4th in the NYPL in k rate. Riley Ferrell, Ryan Thompson, and Josh James are all in the Top 30 in FIP in the Texas League (min 40 ip).
For a guy who's coming off getting an aneurysm removed from his throwing shoulder, Riley Ferrell has done alright this year.
So wait...Is Whitley starting tonight in San Antonio? Because if so, I'm going. Sneed is showing as the CC starter on the MiLB app, but I don't know if this is one of those tandem starts.
Whitley was supposed to be starting one of the Midland games so I assume he'll be going in this series. Josh James is starting tonight.
If Whitley was supposed to start yesterday but got rained out, wouldn't he go tonight? I don't know how they handle those things.
