so the s8/plus event was today. it's very pretty. will need to have a hands-on before going that route to see how awkward the fingerprint sensor is, eye scan with/without glasses, and face detection for black people (seriously). :grin: wish hardware button was customizable for google assistant in case bixby sucks. with google assist and alexa already available for other android smartphones, i can imagine bixby going the svoice route. but... it's pretty. i dunno. edit: also, sammy already has the tech for fingerprint sensors under the screen, but word is that they ran out of time. maybe ready for note 8?
I always WANT to like Samsung. If i do try one again, I think I will go the unlocked route but then they are so pricey. I like the looks. Fantastic with the little bezels. Dual Bluetooth support? I'm trying to figure out a cool use other than pair 2 headphones to watch movies on a flight. I'm not sure i'm a fan of all the Bixby stuff. I try to avoid the Samsung apps like the plague as well.
I had an S7 Edge unlocked for a while. Got rid of it since Samsung is slow with updates. Still doesn't have Nougat to this day. I would need assurances that they plan to fully support it before I would consider an S8 unlocked.
the iPhone 7 looks ancient next to the S8. Those bezels are ugly. Apple better step up, if I'm not impressed with the iPhone 8 I'm going to purchase the S8.
I have Nougat on my S7 edge for awhile now from a VZW stock OTA push. I'll take a great piece of hardware any day over an immediate OS upgrade.
Recently just got the 6P and battery dies < 1 hour https://www.engadget.com/2017/04/21/lawsuit-takes-aim-at-google-huawei-over-nexus-6p-battery-issues/ Any chance I can get this fixed or am I better off getting a new phone?
