So cost is irrelevant? Pretty asinine thinking there. Beware of premature ej's. Not saying I want him, but perhaps since he stated he'd like to resign helps. He's older and might not want switch lifestyles again. Also, consider it took the greatest market for him to not resign last time.
I still remember being stoned off my ass listening to Arnie Spanier on 610 the midnight he announced the Randy Johnson trade. My buddy called me about 30 seconds later and said "we're going to the ****ing World Series!!!"
Not a fan of trading for Beltran. Unless we can get him cheap. Too old to give up any noticeable prospects and isn't he a FA next year?
That lineup could potentially mash.....enough to where I'm only mildly infuriated seeing Gomez and Gattis together in there.
With a Beltran trade i think CF Springer 3B Bregman 2B Altuve SS Correa RF Beltran DH Gurriel 1B Valbuena LF (Red Hot) Rasmus or Marisnick C Castro Great D throughout and a 1-8 with potential too be a 'murderers row' Bench: Gattis, Gonzalez, Rasmus/Marisnick Tucker, Reed, White, Stassi, Moran should be Sept. Call ups with a shot at earning a 13th position player spot. Please move Gomez, Neshek, Fister/Feldman. Like the return the pitching would nab
Expectation: Houston gets Beltran and a middling starting pitcher while the Rangers get Sale and Lucroy. Hope: Sale or Archer, Lucroy or Norris, and either David Robertson or Jake McGee
Predictions: Bruce Mets Hill Dodgers Sale Rangers Lucroy Rangers Smith Rangers Reddick Dodgers Puig As Volquez Astros Beltran Astros Norris Astros Santana Blue Jays Moore Dodgers Pearce Giants Hellickson Tigers
@Joelsherman1My stealth team today: #Astros. I think they get a SP and are involved in anything big that pops up. Nothing earth shattering, but I'm hopeful.
How are the rangers getting both Sale and Lucroy? Think they're gutting the farm and also dealing Profar, Gallo, Mazara? I don't think the Rangers will land Sale. If anyone does it, I think it's Houston
I wouldn't be surprised to see Luhnow take a flyer on Rich Hill. Upside is huge for the rest of the year (sporting a 2.25 ERA before sidelined with a blister). Depends on what Oakland is asking for. Wouldn't give up any top 100 prospects for Hill, but not against sending some of our fringe prospects.
I'm curious to see what it takes to land Sale, Archer, or Lucroy. Anybody have a good idea of what it would take from us to get each individually? I see us landing Archer or Lucroy today. Maybe both but thats a stretch. Which prospects, if any do we ship out today? I need some ideas to toy with on this day of constant F5ing
Red Sox, Dodgers, Yankees, Rangers, Padres, Braves, and Astros are the teams thT have farms deep enough to do pretty much whatever they want. Hypotheticals in which Rangers get both Sale and Lucroy: White Sox get: Brinson DeShields Profar Mendez Tate Brewers get: Gallo Ortiz Ibanez
Just the same, Houston could also get both if willing: White Sox get: Reed Martes Tucker Musgrove Teoscar Brewers get: Paulino Singleton Moran Fisher
He is - but Beltran would be a tremendous addition to this team. Not only is there a full-circle feel to it but his bat in the middle of this line-up is sorely needed. If they added Beltran + TOR pitcher, I think this team has a chance to play deep into October. Two big IFs though...

I suppose those are feasible. I just don't see the Rangers gutting themselves entirely like that. I also think Mazara would be forced into a deal, which would end up killing it for the Rangers.
