he had a tweet from earlier congratulating the sixers on winning. also The Starters knew philly was winning as well.
He tweeted a congrats to Philly for getting the #1 pick about 6hrs ago lol... subsequently deleted it, but it was out there: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="und" dir="ltr"> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/What?src=hash">#What</a> <a href="https://t.co/FDPgusa6t2">pic.twitter.com/FDPgusa6t2</a></p>— Joel Embiid (@JoelEmbiid) <a href="https://twitter.com/JoelEmbiid/status/732677769398788097">May 17, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I don't understand. What does an Eastern conference team have to do with us? I'm mad the Lakers get whoever Philly doesn't take. Ingram could end up better than Simmons. Why are Rockets fans supposed to care about Boston most likely getting Buddy Hield?
I'm happy the Sixers won it. I would have preferred that the Lakers lost their pick to Philly. I'm wondering if any of those mid-to-late lotto teams would be willing to move their pick, though I don't think Rockets have the assets this year.
it's really simple. After the no.1 and the no.2 pick the rest of the available talents in this lottery aren't considered franchise talents. And so the value of the no.3 pick compared to a no.2 pick is extremely lower as an asset. This makes it much harder for the Celtics to trade for a star. They need to trade for a star first to be able to get Durant. By not getting a no.1 or no.2 pick their chances of being serious contenders to get Durant are now much lower.
lol..that's it? You'd rather see the Lakers draft a potential future Durant because you are afraid the Celtics with the #2 pick could have drawn Durant to them? Durant is a pipe dream for any team. He's not going anywhere.
Yes but the #2 pick isn't set in stone. The Sixers will choose either Ingram or Simmons but there's zero guarantee the Lakers will take whomever doesn't get picked by the Sixers.
Also...how does that not work for LAL in the same way? Now with the #2 pick as a trading chip and cap to get a big time free agent? Makes no sense.
