Is he going to stay in China for another year? I think it's better for him to play in the Vipers and develope. He needs to learn to play some physical basketball, and of course gain some weight with professional trainers.

Nothing to do with racism, you dished out the race card my friend. The Chinese CBA's level is just behind the Top European leagues and has a long way to go to be considered near today's NBA level. It is what it is. Truth be told Chinese market is the only attractive thing here. Zhou Qi must really work his butt off and we will go from there.

Reminds me of Royce White even though they are nothing alike except seem to be classic boom-bust pick. Incredibly high upside, but could also be nothing. Likely to actually see an NBA court even if he sucks though.

Royce has a big flaw (not showing up for games). Zhou Qi has a big flaw (rail thin/lack of defensive skills besides height). Royce had a beautiful passing game if he could have overcome his flaw. Zhou Qi has a beautiful face up game for a 7-footer if he overcomes his flaw.
Poor man's Porzingis IMO. I'm glad he's staying there another year, hopefully he'll get some advice on how to prepare for the NBA. Will he come over mid season? When does the Chinese league end? Would be awesome if he developed at RGV for half a season before his first training camp. I think he can be a useful player. He won't be an excellent shotblocker, but his positional defense looks like it can become stellar. Will take quite a while for the game to slow down for him. Nice project pick. Any extra revenues or ratings will be an added bonus. I don't know why people are mad about this.
