Snake Diggit is a D/D- poster. Not the Clutchfans member I would have allowed to have posting privileges but the selection was limited to be honest.
Alex Schick, a RHP from Cal who was previously drafted by the Astros in 2013, was drafted by the Twins in the 6th round.
Round 6, Pick 187: Stephen Wrenn, CF, Georgia Jim Callis: "Tremendous value in the 6th round" #212 on the BA 500. 53 games, .297/.364/.435, 5 HR, 26 RBI, 34 R, 19 BB (5 HBP), 47 K, 12 SB (4 CS), .799 OPS
True but he has already graduated and is old for his class. Would be going on 24 as a draftee next year.
After a breakout sophomore season, Stephen Wrenn took a step back as a junior. He still has a solid hit tool, though, and some of the best speed of any college player in this year's draft.
Round 7, Pick 217: Tyler Buffett, RHP, Oklahoma State #142 in Perfect Game's top 500. Not ranked by Baseball America. Jim Callis: 91-93, up to 95, upper-80s cutter, probably a reliever 34 appearances (3 starts, pitched in 4 shutouts), 7-3, 9 saves, 3.34 ERA, 67.1 IP, 59 H, 31 R (25 earned), 29 BB, 66 K, 1.31 WHIP, .236 opponent average
Yea, I just know that he has said he is playing his senior year regardless Wouldn't be the first person to change his mind and certainly worth a late pick
Round 8, Pick 247: Nick Hernandez, RHP, Houston 29 relief appearances, 3-0, 11 saves, 1.40 ERA, 51.1 IP, 27 H (2 HR allowed), 9 R (8 earned), 11 BB, 67 K, 0.74 WHIP, .154 opponent average
projects as a closer if you need to know about him. dominated conference play in his only season here for us. went to Alvin CC before transferring to Houston.

Round 9, Pick 277: Ryan Hartman, LHP, Tennessee Wesleyan First senior pick for the Astros. His 0.64 ERA led the NAIA and he was the ace of a pitching staff that had the lowest team ERA in the NAIA. 17 appearances (13 starts), 10-1, 0.64 ERA, 98 IP, 62 H (2 HR allowed), 17 R (7 earned), 12 BB, 129 K, 0.76 WHIP, .176 opponent average
This, the draft, will be the highlight for many youngsters. Minor league ball is so challenging, that out of the 40+ guys the Astros take, maybe 5 or 8 guys stay relevant for a few years, with maybe 2 or 3 guys reaching ML ball at some point with any ML team. Good that Luhnow is looking for talent, in order to push the guys who are hopeful to reach ML at some point in their career.
