First off lol @crabbe and marvin Williams being scrubs. In addition, I really don't want Whiteside because I believe in Capela. And no I'm not one of those guys who overvalues are players

I love Fournier, but (as you said) Orlando is probably a lock to match any contract he signs anyway. Also, I'm definitely not willing to say he's worth a max at this point. He's gotten progressively better each season, and he's an exceptional shooter and efficient scorer. But that's pretty much the only thing he does well. He's below average at every other aspect of the game. He can barely defend SG much less other positions, he doesn't create for others and he can't rebound.

Signing a 23-year-old to a max with only one solid season under his belt and a ton of holes in his game would scare the crap out of me.

I agree with you, to a certain extent, only because this team right now is not built to have superstar elite players come in and put us into contention mode. Morey and Les will have to roll the dice on some "high risk high reward" players like an Evan Fournier because the established stars (the Durants of the league) might not like what they see when they look at the Rockets roster.

Is it the safest plan to max out an Evan Fournier? Absolutely not but I'm all for throwing money at players that have potential to be all-star or near all-star level than to players that might be on the decline in Year 2 or 3 of their deal.

With all the talk about dmo we should really push hard for whiteside. And also I know everybody besides myself and Hollic and a few others would like Rubio I think he could be a better option than Conley just because of the hefty price tag. Rubio>Conley at 25 mill. He's a ton cheaper. Not good with numbers but could a lineup of
    Rubio
    Harden
    Barnes
    Dmo
    Whiteside be done?
With dmo really becoming more of a focal point of the offense.

Could be done but I don't think Minnesota wants any of our players for him unless we give them too much (maybe Ariza/Bev for him? If something like this, we would lose 1 cheaper quality SF while our PG gets replaced)....Barnes is too expensive for his output, D-Mo can't be the focal point as his back injury continues to be a problem, and I'm guessing we'll have to overpay Whiteside more than anyone else as the man already wants to stay in Miami.

He will get a max deal so we can't really overpay.

if we crap out on top FA I would like Morey to sign young players not yet fully proven but with a lot of potential like Crabb and Clarkson. Then we can mold them and see if they develop further. If not we trade them or package them for picks,etc...Since they are young with reasonable contracts they will be more appealing to other teams (especially with the cap increasing) and allow Morey to make trades to improve the team.

But there's a point where Rubio can take you and where he cannot take you further, that's why Mike Conley gets paid more.

Max Whiteside Max Barnes and you have 1 mill cap space left I believe, its 1-3mill. Package Beverley+6 mill worth of stuff +-1.6 mill(i believe) and you can get Rubio. It might take more to get Minnesota to give him up, I wouldn't know because I simply don't value him highly at all.

Resign Dwight, DMO, TJones, Terry, Josh Smith. I thought this was a top 3 roster, Murray? A WCF team...
