Worked much better for the Browns who seem to pick a QB in the top 85 every year.

Bobby's standard of success: "we're better than the Browns!"

Connor Cook is looking pretty good so far. He just threaded it between 2 defenders for a TD, now at 284 and 3TDs.

Pointing out that drafting QB's in the top 85 just to say you drafted QB's in the top 85 isn't the path to success. I know, it's incredibly obvious to most....but not all.

I dont recall the Browns ever having a good team to put around those QB's.

When is the last time it would have made a difference at all? Also, I'm pretty sure some were suggesting that the Texans should keep drafting QB's in the first till they get a franchise guy.....that's how you become Cleveland.

To me it doesn't matter where they pick a QB. As long as they actually do some homework on him. Can't always go with the "experts".

BTW, people, JT Barret starting for OSU tonight only proves one thing. They have the two best QB's in the NCAA.

Cardale Jones a late 2nd Rounder at best.

I don't think teams draft QB's in the top 85 "just to say" they did. They did it because they know it's hard to win a championship without a good QB. A team can win championship with average or below average players at some positions. But it's really hard to win a championship with Hoyer and Mallett quality talent. If there is one position on the team that I don't mind a team taking a gamble on its the QB. You gotta have a QB.

I'm tired of the Texans trying to find a diamond in the rough among the leagues second and third string QB's. Just go ahead and draft a QB, I wont get upset if he doesn't pan out. There current strategy isn't working.

Yeah. It's MUCH better to be the Texans than the Browns. The Browns have won 36 games in the last 7 and a half seasons. The Texans have 41 regular season wins and 2 playoff wins due to winning their division twice in the last 5 and a half years alone. Over the same period of time that makes it 58 wins. Even the whiniest Texans fan should realize there's a big difference between a team like the Browns and the Texans.

Upside is overrated. See: Mallett, Ryan.

Just give me the best QB.

I agree he's not a very good QB. The onky thing he has going for him is his size and the fact that he hasn't player much so maybe he still has a lot of growth. I don't think JT Barret is going to be a good pro QB either although he is much better that Jones for the colleg game.
