RGIII has a very "woe is me" diva/victim attitude, don't want.

Correct... see my last post prior to this one. Seattle was forced to go to a committee, and they subsequently started to play their best football of the season. New England was forced to expand their already-existing committee due to an injury to Lewis. Green Bay has gone from having a bell-cow in Lacy to him being ineffective/injured, and now their running game is thriving in the committee approach with Starks. KC was forced into it and has actually been *better* after JC got injured.

I really don't want them spending high round picks on RB's.... but it is a position that needs to be upgraded (but I'd also still prefer the committee).

RG3 vs Savage vs BJ. Winner take all. Of course BJ could just play slot wr if he looses out which means it should be RG3 vs Savage. RG3 is better than every qb in the upcoming draft, he's had a year to heal and learn from his mistakes. He's got a strong arm and is a run threat. I think he can be the real deal once again here

Wilson, Brady, and Rogers are all superbowl winners. QB by committee is okay when you have a major threat under center. On the other hand, the Vikings made won their division with their offense relying on Adrian Peterson mostly.

Oh I hope not. Replace BJ with a rookie.

I totally disagree about your assessment of RG3. I don't know where you get the idea that he is better than every QB in this draft. This isn't 2013. The last few times we've seen him on the field (even when healthy), he has not been very good. He needs to pull a Michael Vick and go to a team as a true backup.

Go watch some video of 2012 RG3, it's electric!!! But most of the amazing plays are with his legs. Is RG3 healthy and does he have any magic left? I would love to find out!!!

I can't fathom why people would be going on and on about RG3... or Kap.

Have "spurned" QBs moved on to have great careers elsewhere? I guess. Once in a blue moon. I mean Brees is the obvious people point to, but that's so so rare and random.

The Texans have tried this route, to a degree, with all of their recent choices, including Schaub. Backup, or guy who started on another team that just needs a "change of scenery"

As I said with Hoyer, why on earth would a QB that got outplayed by Cousins, or lost the starting job to Blaine Gabber of all people, excite you?? Next thing you know we'll be excited about Cleveland Brown has beens... oh, wait!

Well Drew Brees had a pretty brutal first 3 years of his career in San Diego....

I'm an FCS fan but I don't get the hype on Wentz. He's a game-manager on a defensive/running game oriented team that's won 5 FCS nattys in a row. I keep hearing the same things about him - he's big, fast, smart, a winner. Not much about his arm, though.

His stats don't jump out at you like you would expect for an FCS guy. Look at Vernon Adams while at Eastern Washington. Keep in mind that NDSU is basically an FBS school playing in the FCS, so I question his level of competition in college.

Also Carson Palmer in Bungle land and Oakland who coincidentally also came back from a blown knee.

I think brutal is a strong word choice there... but I admit it occasionally happens.

He was a pretty decent QB in Cleveland. Some really good years. Then the injury. Took him a while to get back.

Even still, I don't find RG3 or Kapernick to be comparable to the Palmer situation.

To me, Brees is that anamoly. The guy with clear skill that was just being held back organizationally - and somewhat his own mindset until he got that ultimate kick in the pants - who fell into the right coach and organization and fit and exploded to become one of the best QBs of all time frankly. And a SB win, obviously.

I'd love to be confident that the options out there right now have that kind of potential, but I'm just nowhere close to that.

Well Kaepernick shouldn't be mentioned because he's just terrible, but RG3 IMO was misused and it caused a bad start to his career. Hell having another QB drafted at the same time breathing down your neck from day 1 didn't help anything either.

Next season...better hope Tom Savage has progressed.

Give RG3 a chance to compete for the roster. Hoyer lost any and all chances at being a starter in this league after that debacle on Saturday. I still cant believe those INTs he threw...they were such bad decisions.

Kap also took his team to the SB and played pretty damn well in doing so. Can't argue that RG3 was misused but injuries set him back a ton and there has to be legitimate concerns about whether he can stay healthy. I'd also be concerned if he was actually rattled about a QB taken 100 players after him.

i'm very interested to see what Savage brings. He's had now 2 years in the league to learn and practice. In theory, year 3 should be where he could 'theoretically' take over given competence & talent. He seems motivated so I'm actually putting a little bit of hope on him to come out compete and maybe even surprise some people. He's got that sexy Roethlisberger build .

Let Savage, RG3, and a high draft pick battle it out. May the best man win. Stop f***ing around with guys who have no prayer of ever being the answer at QB. Give the team a chance.

His arm is his best quality.

He plays in a pro-style offense. Actually, its probably somewhat similar to what we run. I don't need to see stats when I look at a college prospect. Look at Brady, for example.

As far as competition goes, yeah, its a question. Thing is, he destroyed Iowa State (like any good D1 QB should) in his first start.

The only reason he wasn't a D1 QB is because he had a hurt should from pitching his junior year and didn't play QB in high school until his senior year.

You've heard of journeyman NFL QB's right? Well Savage is a journeyman COLLEGE QB!!! At Rutgers, he lost his starting job to a freshman after an injury and decide to transfer instead of compete and win his job back. Transferred to Arizona only to leave (without taking snap due to lost transfer year) after Rich Rodriguez was hired. Not out of the ordinary but again he didn't stay and fight for the starting job. Tried to transfer back to Rutgers but was denied so transferred to Pitt instead to finish his college career. Savage does nothing for me and his college career only reinforces those feelings. His spot duty at Indy was a disastrous, looked like a deer in headlights. He doesn't have "it."

I agree with this plan (if you can't get Brees) although it's a huge risk but maybe a huge reward as well.
