Wonder if a 4th rounder would be enough to snag Kap or RG3, not a huge investment and would still allow a high draft pick on a QB if someone falls. Wouldn't mind giving Osweiler a look depending on his price tag either.
I don't know about Kap's value to SF, but I do know RG3 will be cut because his cap hit is like $16M next year. Also, RG3 sucks. Not his fault. Shanny left him in too long, though he might have had all those serious injuries anyways. He's not the same athlete as he was in 2012, and he never could make pocket plays at NFL starting caliber QB speed. Lastly, Denver is not letting Brock go. So it's about SF's new coach and his opinion of Kap. I don't follow the 49ers closely, so I don't know why Kap has regressed.
what if manning wins a superbowl and wants to come back another year? brock is unrestricted, would they put the franchise tag on brock? Would love brock. Shoot, I'll take a 45 year old kurt warner. I'll take anything that's not NE trash.
RG3 is done. Colin Kaepernick is too expensive. Brock doesn't look comfortable to me as a QB and he's the Broncos future even if Peyton plays well this post-season.
im not sure RG3 is done... I mean he had a whole year off to revover from his injuries and probably busted his ass to get back in shape.. I wouldnt mind giving him a try- atleast it would make things excited anything but Hoyer or any New England retreats

Nah, RG3 is pretty much done. He needs to be a backup somewhere and hope he gets the chance to start a few games to prove himself again. I like the guy. I just think those first two season were too much for him physically and mentally.
so we gave Hoyer, Fitzpatrick, Schaub, Mallet a shot, but were not willing to give RG3 a shot.. Whats the worst that can happen?

RG3 had torn acl twice (Maybe that has something to do with the regression) look im not saying hes the next brady, but it wouldnt hurt to try
actually yes, it could hurt. I've heard he's a locker room cancer He played in a system at Baylor - didn't translate to the NFL.
At this point in time, I'm still all aboard the Goff bandwagon to the point of moving up as necessary to get him - assuming it isn't a crazy expensive move up. That could change, and I recognize the "safety" of going with a Lynch, Cook, Wentz, Hackenberg type that is available at your pick. But i think if you're going to just go with that, you might as well not pick a QB. You get the QB you like, not the one that falls to you. Also, at this point, I'd have absolutely no problem with a QB effectively blowing the Browns off and doing everything in their power not to be selected there. I find it a ****ty thing generally for draftees to do, regardless of sport... but man chances are you're going to have a ****tier career if you're drafted by the Browns. I hope Chad Kelly declares. I'm no scout or expert, but obviously he adds depth, and I just think he's the type of QB, where if all the cards fall the right way, could have a successful career.
None of the rookies excite me but RG3 and Kap would make it really fun this upcoming off season. The problem with both is neither could/can effectively operate in the pocket which is BOB's prototypical QB. Rolling with RG3 and Savage next season, would you do it?
I agree. We need the QB with the best set of tools. Then we do whatever we can to develop him (and continue to develop the OLine) until we absolutely have to start him. He's NOT ready to start next year, but to my (VERY) untrained eyes, J. Goff has the best "tools."
Hoyer, Fitz, and Mallett were all cheap. We traded 2 2nd rounders for Schaub, but he was cheap when he got here. RG3 is expensive and a big question mark. If you can get RG3 here for Hoyer money then yeah, we'd give him a shot.
Why wouldn't RG3 be cheap? I do not think many teams would be interested in him as their starter next year. Too many question marks. RG3 needs to sign a cheap deal and to rebuild his value if possible.
