I have been and continue to be on the Goff bandwagon... ... but admit that his mid-year stretch of bad and so so games made me less enthused about him. It's hard to look past the rest of his squad, which often is overmatched. His horrible game against Utah was, no doubt, horrible, but the o-line was constantly overmatched and undersized. I don't think this Air Force game or Arizona St. game changes anything. I readily admit he could be a bust. He's very hard to gauge right now. He has most of the measurables, stats, etc. but the question of scheme and play against better teams will remain.
I was pretty impressed with Marquis Williams in the Russell Bowl and he is ranked like 21st quarterback. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/2016/QB Maybe draft a couple of those 6/7th rounders and find a gem.

Is he a gem? If so then we are good, if not maybe throw some cheap alternatives into the competition. The kids from N.C. State, or Indiana, maybe Boykin will be Russell Wilson. If 2015 has showed us anything it's you cannot predict who will play an effective (not All-pro just effective) QB. Weeden, Mallet, Keenum all won NFL games last week.
But you can't keep them all on the roster. Hoyer and Savage are on contract. You really have room for only one more if those two stay.
Very little chance Hoyer stays, his contract is fully non-guaranteed so you can save 5 mil by cutting him AND he's terrible at playing football. The team will also save 7 mil when they cut Foster and 3 mil when they cut Graham.
