It's just one pick. It happens. It will haunt them more trading six picks for two busts IMO. Once the Kubiak guys start to become free agents and we need to rely on BOB guys, it could get ugly. And McNair wants to trade up more to get a QB. Smh
He's actually having a pretty good career so far. Was never thought of as a high pick though. At least not top 3.
Huh, well that's good, I haven't really heard much about him and honestly kind of forgot about him. What is it he does well? I looked at the first couple of pages in the sack and tackle leaders and didn't see him.
So an OLB that doesn't get many sacks or tackles and a game manager who struggles to complete passes longer than 10 yards down field? Would have been a solid draft for you.
Lol, everything you say is inaccurate. That's okay. I understand. BTW, who was your pick in that draft. No tales please.
My pick was Clowney in the first, Carr in the second. I'd take Clowney/Carr over Barr/Bridgewater any day of the week as would pretty much any team in the NFL.
I understand them picking Clowney, I just would have done it differently. Carr would have been a good pick. I've gotten over the Clowney pick because he has shown promise this season, but I will never forget bypassing Carr only to end up with" Not So"Savage.
I was pretty upset about that too given that I had been talking about Carr since his junior season in college. Oh well.
Too bad the QB we pick in this draft, if we do indeed trade up for one, will always be compared to Carr, Bridge, and Bortles.
The Raiders have Mack, Carr, Amari, Woodson, a better running game than the Texans and will probably finish below .500. Stop drooling over the girl that got away. She might still look hot but she also might have given you gonorrhea.
This reminds me of the people who said the Texans would regret not drafting Vince for the next 20 years. LOL. If we draft a good QB next year, no one will care about Carr, Bridge or Bortles. Hell, no one cares about Bortles now.
Of course he's played in more games than Clowney (although he's missed a few this year), but he has better career stats so far. Clowney's arrow is trending much further upwards than his, but he's still a solid player. Yeah, he only has 2.5 sacks this year, but he's got 3 forced fumbles, an interception, and he also had a huge fumble return for a touchdown to win a game last year. He's super athletic, like Clowney. Just doesn't have the raw power and quickness Clowney does. He's been more durable to this point, though. Just because you haven't heard his name much doesn't mean he's a bust. All that said, I'd take Clowney 100 times out of 100 over him still. Also, back to the root subject of the thread. The more I continue to watch Hackenberg, the more I continue to be excited about him. I watched probably five of his games this year, and as I go back and watch tape, I am continually excited. He reminds me of Jay Cutler. The better teammate version. Although I could see him being better than Cutler. His numbers aren't great. I don't look much into that. He doesn't have a lot of talent around him, to be honest. Also, they run some screwy protections and schemes. You consistently see a guard pulling out to the opposite side of the field in pass protection - it results in a sack or hurried throw almost every time. Hackenberg is mostly reduced to shotgun since O'Brien left, and I think it's hurt his footwork, which leads to some bad throws. That will be corrected though. I just watch the film, and I see why O'Brien would want him. He throws pretty well on the run for bootlegs. He can scramble. Great teammate. Big enough arm. He sometimes makes bad reads, though, which everyone does. Sometimes tries to force things. He's only 21, though. Wentz and Hackenberg, to me, are 1a, 1b. They'll both he risers once the evaluation process starts. I think they'll both be mid to late 1st round guys, that I could see rising above Cook. I'd rank them as follows: 1a. Wentz 1b. Hackenberg 2. Goff 3. Lynch 4. Cook I know, I crazy.
I know it's against Air Force but Goff throws some nice deep balls hitting players in stride. Too bad we won't have a shot of drafting him.
