I agree completely. I just feel he's more questioned nabke as a prospect than many think. As a quarterback, he's tall enough, has shown he has enough arm strength, but maybe a little light. Thing is, quarterbacks don't get hit a ton, and he's not a huge scrambler, so I don't know why anyone would be worried about his size.
Cook lost. Lynch lost. Hackenberg lost. Goff is currently winning but his completion percentage is less than 50%. Card ale'a numbers aren't that much better. Not a good day for the top QB prospects.
Goff's team is getting killed 31-10. Not quite halftime yet so maybe he can turn things around. Scoring only 10 points in the 1st half against Oregon's terrible defense doesn't measure up. He's missing throws.
i get the same feeling from goff i had from sam bradford, i dont think deep down they really love football
The Texans should take 6 QBs in the draft. Then have a reality show where these 6 guys go head to head. At the end of each show have a 7 on 7 elimination game. Each QB drafts their team, from local semi professional players Until you're left with just one. Ratings gold.
There really aren't any franchise QB's, but there are QB's going in the draft that will make teams better.
Right now I would say Manning and maybe Cam Newton. In the near future, Luck, Marriotta and Winston will be considered franchise QB's. I just don't see anyone in this draft being as good or better than these.
You put players like Lynch and Cardale with the Texans and they instantly become a much improved team.
A franchise QB is when you have a guy that you're happy with and aren't really concerned about upgrading the position. That can be a HOF guy like Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady. Or it can be a solid player who you can confidently build around - a Philip Rivers or Matt Ryan. Even when Atlanta went 4-12 and 6-10, there was no thought that the QB was the problem. That's when you have a franchise QB. Some current franchise QBs out there: Brees, Brady, Manning, Manning, Rodgers, Ryan, Big Ben, Rivers, Luck, Wilson, Flacco, Dalton, Romo, Palmer.
Sorry - Newton as well. Guys like Bridgewater, Carr, Bortles, Mariota, and Winston, etc are still "hope to be" franchise QBs as well.
