I would assume Worth. Reed would get most of the starts at first, with Valbuena at 3rd and Marwin rotating between the 2 and backing up SS and 2B.

Also of minor note, Colin Moran played shortstop last night... first time he's done that in his professional career.

I'm sure it has more to do with trying to find time for Duffy, Singleton, Reed, and White, but interesting nonetheless.

Nolan Fontana has really regressed. He's got an OPS of .521 now... 200 points lower than last year (and he was in AAA then as well). His one elite tool, walk rate, has taken a huge hit this year.

It would definitely be Worth, though Worth has looked good so far, even if his numbers aren't strong.

The only other option (barring a trade or an injury), would probably be Devenski (although he has pitched well) if they decide to go with 12 pitchers.

Danny Worth has been making some really good contact the last few games, I want to see a little more of him.

If Reed were to get called up right now, I would think Kemp would be headed back down. Marwin can play LF to be our 5th OF, and Marisnick can be a pinch runner. Plus Kemp is left handed, so he doesn't really have a good platoon situation right now for any kind of regular playing time. Unless we are willing to commit some regular AB's to see what kind of hitter he is, he's a bit of a spare part at the moment.

Yea I agree it would more than likely be Kemp. I wish we could see a little more of him to be honest, he is the kind of contact hitter that we could use, but he hasn't gotten enough playing time to see if he is ready

Worth would be a prime candidate to be sent down.

Devenski has been way too valuable. He has the 3rd most relief innings on the team and has been outstanding. Plus they likely have him on some kind of innings limit I would imagine so sending him down just so he could start seems very unlikely also

I agree. Just saying if a pitcher were to go down, he is essentially the only candidate. I can't imagine them sending Giles down and Feliz has been getting more and more pressure situations.

As did I. Worth or Kemp makes sense.

The fact that both of you, regular watchers, forgot that Kemp was even on team pretty much sums up his role on this squad right now. The only available AB's for him are against lefties, and he's a lefty.

And it's not that I don't like him, he just doesn't really have a place aside from pinch running. If any roster move were made he would seem a pretty obvious choice to go back down.

If Reed gets called up it only makes sense for Kemp to go down. Use Reed as the DH against RHP and it let's Gattis pretty much serve his role as the guy who plays against LHP (either as a DH or C).

Will Luhnow even call AJ Reed up? I hope in the near future he does but I doubt it.

He will definitely be here at some point this year, unless he just goes into a major funk

Luhnow said he wants to see improvement vs LHP, but I have to believe that at some point he comes up to try and help. He is on a nice two week run right now

We do need his help, but with the recent success of some of Valbuena/Worth/Marwin I doubt it's the right time.

But I would do it anyway. We can't take this Angels team lightly.

Reed has to earn it, which imo he has not. Reed has a .826 OPS in a very hitters friendly league (PCL), which is good but by no means dominating.

Reed will also need to play everyday, either with the Astros or in AAA.

McCurry (Lowrie trade) promoted to Fresno. Profiles as a potential middle relief to late inning guy.
