Evaluating players (especially prospects) by batting average is an obsolete practice.

Cristian Javier has put up some gaudy K numbers this season. Will be an interesting guy to follow next year assuming he starts in full season ball.

Yass. Haven't you seen the Astros major league lineup. Other than Active no one is batter higher than .283.

Guys, take it easy on No Worries. Bregman early struggles after dominating the minors has shaken his trust.

There is a quite optimism within the organization that Gurriel will be more productive than expected when the Astros signed him. His bat speed and conditioning has supposedly impressed.

Agapito Barrios making his debut for QC. He's exactly the type of prospect that shocks everyone when he gets added to the 40 man. My thing is this: with as much as he's been hurt and as long as he's been bouncing around, why hasn't he been released? Same goes for Evan Grills, Angel Heredia, and Edison Frias.

I'm starting to get very optimistic about Odvaldo Duarte. He's easily the most talented position player on the Lancaster roster.

Randy Cesar is officially on the radar.

Myles Straw might be the best CF prospect in the system.

Anibal Sierra is off to a good start in the DSL; predicting he starts in Lancaster next year.

Insane how many international arms are putting up really good numbers up and down the system.

Straw should have been in Lancaster 3 weeks ago

.763 OPS excites you for a player in A+? ;)

Of course we can only dream of .763 for this year's Astros LF, CF, 1B, C and DH.

Is Jon Kemmer trying to make his case or what? Hit his 13th tonight, 8th in his last 23 games. Ended up 3-4 with a 2B, HR, BB, 3 RBI

Expectations are definitely tempered but I'd say he's probably right there on the Tucker & TWhite level. Maybe a little more defensive prowess than Tucker? Should get a shot in Houston at some point.

Kemmer is making his case to get another chance in AAA next season instead of being released. With his defensive limitations he's going to have to mash for an extended period of time to start getting any consideration for the majors.

For a 19-year old, in A ball that has a chance to develop power..yes.

In 27 games post all star break, he's got an 1.147 OPS. Pretty impressive.
