He plays RF... but does anybody honestly believe he couldn't play CF if they happened to have a 3rd OF who was better suited to play RF than anywhere else? He has speed, range, agility, athleticism, takes great routes, and has a great arm. I agree that all teams shift... thus why I don't put as much value in the elite defensive merits of a 2B.
@MLB: AL #FinalVote update: 1. Saunders, TOR 2. Springer, HOU 3. Pedroia, BOS 4. Kinsler, DET 5. Longoria, TB VOTE: https://t.co/NwgNVi2dEj #ASG
@jakemkaplan: George Springer was asked if he would be interested in participating in the Home Run Derby but said he respectfully declined.

Springer can play CF. He probably wouldn't be Gold Glove caliber. I don't understand the rational about teams shifting hurting a 2B's value as shifting causes the infield to make a larger percentage of the batted ball outs versus the outfield. Being better positioned to make more outs increases a player's value.
Of course I believe he can play CF, but he doesn't. Can't give him brownie points for what he might be in CF. BTW, I hate how we refuse to move Springer or Marisnick to CF in favor of Gomez (or Fowler before that).
jorge, jose and carlosplay like all stars for the astros. Right now Correa's OPS is 2nd in the AL. by the time the season is over, all his numbers are going to be allstar worthy.
You were only supposed to receive 1 confirmation. I was worried this morning, but after texting vote, it said you would only receive the confirmation message once. When I tried from a different number I got the confirmation message, but only on the first one.
Springer not doing well in my area. Not sure which county I'm counted as since I live at the edge of 3 counties. I'm guess at home I'm either in Peach County or Bibb County given how well Springer is doing when I'm at home, and I'm in Houston County when at work because he doubled his support when I was at work.
That cant be true cause last night I received like 76 consecutive messages from them- one after another.
Doesn't hurt a 2B's value... just leads to mitigating bad defensive players by putting them in a position where typically range is no longer a huge requirement. Bad players start to show average performance in the metrics... good players tend to look great. I still don't know how you would consider a 2B to be more valuable than an elite RF.
@astrosCTH: Saunders is getting 98.7% of Canadians' vote. MLB is reporting he has the AL lead. Springer is getting more votes in Boston than Pedroia. Wow, that's suprising... @Nick you were right
I've voted for Springer a ton, but it's looking like a lost cause thanks to the damn Canadians. Last night's broadcast said Saunders already has 11 million+ votes, while the leader in the NL has half of that, which I imagine would be roughly the same amount Springer has
