Lolz, the good ol' LOF debates.

In truth, Lin was pretty decent to good in his years with us. Was he some superstar that LOFs claim McHale put the clamps on? No. But did he make a positive difference in the games he played? Definitely. The memories I have most with the whole discussion of his time with Rockets come from that Portland series, the first year Dwight was with us (when he was our mvp that series btw). People remember Lin's turnover and bypass all the mistakes our entire team made (including the turnover patrick beverly had at halfcourt from matthews' steal right after lin's turnover to mo williams), but they forget that it was Lin making the key offensive plays down the stretch of game 1 and another game or two in the series. It was Lin coming off the bench and pushing the pace better than our other guards were, and getting our bigs easy buckets. He even started to have his midrange game click a little as well. Yes, he made some really SMH moments too, but it's not like he alone cost us that series. I actually blame a lot of that series on Harden (defensively mostly but even his offense was pretty bad up until game 6) as the entire game plan of the blazers was to EXPOSE harden's defense. And people forget that the Lilliard 3 that knocked us out of the playoffs was a defensive mistake made by both Parsons and Harden, with more blame I think going to Harden for not SEEING the necessary switch that would have at least made Lilliard's shot even more of a fade. Lin was a good backup point guard that series, making some big plays offensively for us and actually d'ing up Lilliard better in game 6 than beverly was. Having said all that, was Lin some superstar waiting to be unleashed that Mchale was chaining up? Of course not. What we saw in that series was the kind of player Lin was/is: A decent-good point guard who pushes the pace, attacks the basket, gets fts, makes plays, hits the occasional spot up shots, but also turns the ball over, doesn't handle fullcourt pressure well, and isn't a player that is suited for playing off-ball.

So all the LOFs and anti-LOFs need to calm down. LOFS need to accept reality that Jeremy Lin is not some superstar that is being held back by coaches or some unique situation that he's in, and they need to stop justifying every season he proves he's not a superstar with the most bizarre arguments. I'm asian too, but I think a lot of LOFs are really refusing to see things as they are because their desire for Lin to prove something for all of us is too great. And all the anti-LOFs need to stop overreacting to LOFs and understand that Lin DOES belong in the NBA and does add value to whatever team he goes to (Charlotte last year and the Nets this year actually do have more wins with him than without). He makes mistakes and made a lot in his time here, but he wasn't pure trash either as if guys like Beverly were FAR superior to him and never turned over the ball. Lin's not an allstar, but he's not a scrub either. Just watch basketball without an agenda to prove either or, and you'll see this plainly.

I wished he had a healthy season on the nets to prove this for all of us. I wish him all the best to prove if he'll ever get past just a decent/good point guard in the league.

It seems to me Lin tries too hard in wanting to make it happen and this is when he fails real bad!!! This was true with us and with the Lakers. He wanted so bad to keep his starting PG job and looked so exposed that it was easy for Mcfail and Bryon Scott to bench him. If he keeps playing like he did last night Atkinson will have no choice but to bench him too.

Why are you saying this unless you are a LOFH? I think lin has many shortcomings as an NBA player but I like him as a solid backup and good locker room guy.

No one should be liking or praising him unless you're a LOF. confirmed.

I also think Harden can become the best all-time Rocket over Hakeem the Dream...does this make me a HOF?

You need to apologies to me right away!!!

Nobody offering up Gibson for an overpaid scrub like lin. Trying to **** on a rockets point guard on a rockets fan page. Go join a scrubby nets fan page

Dude Beverley can easily out score lin if he was on the crappy nets. Beverley has harden here so he has to sacrifice his offense. It shown if he gets a bigger offensive role he can shine.

What does this have to do with congratulating Beverley on a career night?
