I think it's because initially $36M for 3 years sounded like a lot...then Kent Bazemore signed a $70M for 4 year deal and now Lin's contract looks like peanuts. That said, I think Lin gave up some money to get the 3rd year player option and trade kicker added in.

He didn't say anything about last year. He said that in a day, Lin went from overpaid to underpaid...I took that as meaning when Lin first signed this Nets contract, people on this board (and Stephon Marbury) were saying that $12M/year was overpaying for Lin...but then in the span of less than a day as more contracts were getting signed (like Ryan Anderson for $20M/year, Chandler Parsons for $25M/year, etc) that $12M/year looks like an underpaid contract for Lin.

I hadn't really been keeping up with lin for obvious reasons. But just saw what Marbury said. Wow. I take back everything I ever said. The racism is strong.
