The Rockets had him signed and he took a physical for them......then something happened that led to him being a free agent and there's not anything DMo could have done to make that happen. That was all on Morey. Either way, the Rockets might not need him and DMo will make a lot more money getting a deal next season than he would have playing here so it might end up working out for both parties in the long run.

Maybe it was all on DMo.... He's the one who has failed two team's physicals. Why wouldn't the Pelicans gamble for the vets minimum...

***can someone repost this to Bobby.... I've pwned him too hard in the past and he has me on ignore***

BJ and Morey - and the loser in this is DMo and his contract and the ROCKETS getting worse because they did not keep a uniquely skilled player like DMo for a decent contract.

This could have been done in the summer by the Rockets by upping their offer and they could have had a 2nd year as a team option and DMo as a tradeable asset, instead Morey played his stupid - PROVE IT - deal and in the end, we lost an asset that MAKES THE TEAM BETTER.

And DMo - you cost yourself a few million this year, if Morey was going to play hardball,.....sign the QO...you get the NO TRADE you want and you get to play in a system that would have you averaging double digits and set you up for a massive pay day in the offseason - which may happen anyway.

He plays the rest of the season without any issues, all of this goes away, and the end result will be that Morey looks bad for losing as asset for nothing.....Trez is not tall enough - and Dmo, Capela, Nene and Anderson would be a great bigs rotation.

I am still ****ing salty, this was EGO driven bullshit, that cost my team a player that helped.......in a year in which we might actually be contenders.....which we are HURTING without another big BTW, and 6'7" Trez does not count.

Maybe if the Rockets would have matched the 37m instead of lowballing him for 30m and trying to leverage him into giving up that early 2nd year guarantee....

Both sides played hardball - and we the fans lost out, because our team is weaker without him.

We are still a good team - but DMo would have been a very good contributor on this team......and allowed us to rest Nene more.....and overcome injuries......to our bigs.

This was a cluster**** all around, on BJ's part, on DMo's part and Morey's part, they are all dirty.

I like DMO but BJ should be fired for turning a 31 million dollar guaranteed contract on a contender into a 600k audition on a lottery team. Rockets played hardball but DMO got horrible advice and now is exposing himself to further injury for 600k simply because his agent is bad at his job. God forbid DMO gets seriously injured he may never see a significant offer again. BJ should be embarrassed and fired by his client.

I agree with you 100% - as I said all along, DMo should have just taken the QO and played.

    This is incorrect.

He let Dmo walk for nothing.

That is his fault in this whole thing........his JOB should have been to find a way to sign him, keep him as an asset and make the roster better.

All you have to ask yourself is are we better off with DMo or Bobby Brown?

DM is not the only culprit here, but in this instance he failed. He should have found a way to keep DMo, because it makes the team better - and that is all that matters.

Good luck to Dmo. It was a complete shemozzle how the situation played out. In hindsight, it would have been to Dmo's advantage to blink, produce a career year under MDA's system and see where it takes him. His skillset was legit and would have complemented the team so well.

It was a clusterf**k situation where neither side wanted to put their ego down so in the end both sides lost. Good to see him performing out there. I wish him the best since he was part of my third favorite Rockets roster.

But Morey did keep him. Morey matched the Brooklyn contract as allowed by CBA rules. Armstrong threw a tantrum, crossed his arms, sat where he stood, and did not move until someone carried him.

Morey then was able to sign D-Mo again.

D-Mo did not pass his physical.

    We set him free.

Then Armstrong had 3 meetings. He saw $600K in the second meeting. Cancelled the third meeting. Didn't even want to see if it was a higher offer. I guess D-Mo didn't want to play with the wolves. So he stayed out of the woods.
