[2016-17] GARM and Dish memes explained

This thread is for those who don't read regularly and encounter a repeated phrase that's clearly a BBS meme, and are curious about the meaning or origin -- like the infamous "Kicking the Can" meme by DaDakota, last year. Or "Our ceiling is through the roof" Josh Smith 2015.

Post Explanation or Request a Meme Background:
Either post a meme with explanation (ideally the originated thread/post which makes it the funnest as the reader can see it develop), or post a Request for an explanation. Most will either be from a BBS Poster (often a typo run wild like pr0n) or a quote from a Rockets/NBA player, MDA, Morey, etc.

2016-17 Examples:

• "I'm Serious" meme is from a quote by Patrick Beverley.

  Source: MJ was at a UNC rally in the stadium. Josh was in interview, right? Ideally you'd post links to the actual first posts of these quotes made in the GARM/Dish
  
  
• "Sturdy Player" is the poster ABS (may he rest in peace).
  BBS Source: anyone want to post a link to the first usage of Sturdy by ABS?

I suppose the thread will go back in time to discuss the Comedy Gold memes of lore. Bonus Points for cataloging 2016-17 memes, though.
