Morey tried to trade Dwight and no one would agree to the asking price. This theory of yours that we somehow could have flipped him for Porzingis is just mind-bogglingly insane.
Oh ok, i didn't get what you were trying to say and yes, seems like this is not going as they expected, and we're just 20 games into the first year of the new contract....
Yeah, and for what we know Morey did try to trade him, but seems like no one was really that interested in losing assets to have him for a couple of months, can't really blame them.
Havent a clue. Just saying a team working in harmony centered around Dwight would probably function better than last years team that was in obvious disharmony. It may be, as the Hawks are discovering, that having a team playing well together with Dwight in the fold may not be a easy task.
C Dwight Howard PG Canaan SG anyone 6'3 and up who likes to have their penis grabbed SF chandler parsons PF same as SG but 6'10 and up Really wouldn't be that hard
To be fair, at the time of the signing Dwight was a much better player. He has declined significantly even from his first year in Houston when he had already declined.
Absolutely noway a Howard for kristaps deal was ever on the table. Morey would have made that trade and given them anyone else they wanted besides harden. Porzingas was the best story jn the NBA after the first 30 games. He was balling. He calmed down after the deadline but he had already shown way to much. Phil and the knicks are dumb but not that dumb. Melo wouldn't even have done that trade. Porzingas is a bonafide allstar right now with top 10 player potential. Nobody is doing stuff like him at his size in the history of the game. Closets thing is prob Ralph Sampson before the injuries.
Dwight is talented. And his stats are decent, sometimes great. But his bball IQ is sub-par and his style on offense is disruptive, he kills the rhythm of the rest of the team, he will never suit well with anyone playing modern basketball. He will never be in-tune unless you tailor a whole team around him; and at this stage there is no reason for anybody to go into the trouble of doing that.
Its funny how people will always hate what they want to hate and just ignoring the facts. Its so easy for people to laugh at the Hawks for losing 9 of their last 10 and just blame it all on Dwight and show how smart Morey was to let him go, while on the other hand, completely missing the fact that the Rockets sent our legends in the summer to beg Kent Bazemore to join our team and just got denied, and eventually he is playing like shlt now.
and whose fault is that? http://fansided.com/2016/11/30/dwight-howard-hawks-sustainable/ Because the defense doesn’t feel threatened it doesn’t have to send aggressive help toward the paint, which means the ball doesn’t ping around the perimeter in the Hawks-y way we’ve become so familiar with over the last few years; and suddenly (for example) Kent Bazemore isn’t quite as open all the time and he starts making 30 percent of his 3s as opposed to 36 percent. Baze has made 10 of 19 triples with Dwight on the bench and only 11 of 51 with Dwight on the floor. Better performance without Dwight in the game is not exclusive to Bazemore, either. Seven different Hawks have played at least 100 minutes with Howard this season. Six of them have a better Net Rating when playing without Dwight than with him."
While you are at it, now lets also share the split of all the Hawks players stats of the last 10 games vs their first 11, will you? So when they were off to a great start, it certainly has nothing to do with Dwight, but when things are not going well now, it has everything to do with him? lol
