What is Garrett Grayson's prospects as a NFL QB? Just recently saw one video of the guy...tends to stare down his primary receivers, but he is terrific at placement/touch. Not sure if the Texans take a gamble on this kid?
4th - 6th round talent. Developmental guy. Doesn't have a lot of arm strength, but has good touch and accuracy. Not sure the Texans would take another developmental guy since they've already got Savage for that role. You're right about staring down his primary target. Seems to get flustered when the play isn't absolutely going his way. Doesn't process the field fast enough. You're typical late round QB project I would say. Could be a backup after a couple years of study/coaching up.
Like that idea a lot, but I have a feeling pass rush is going to be their primary target. You just don't have enough currently, and can't rely on Clowney's return at all. Gotta sure up that LB group.
For that reason, I really like Shaq Thompson. People have been down on him because they say he is a tweener between S/LB. But he's a guy that would be great as a three down LB. He also played some goal line running back for Washington. Seems like someone O'Brien could turn into a Mike Vrabel type of guy http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/shaq-thompson?id=2552447
lol...hence why Beasley was posted first. He on one side (standing up ala Von Miller) and Watt on the other.....eff if Clowney is there, or not...this defense is stupid (in a good way)
My first round wish list, with guys that have a shot at being available : 1. Bud Dupree 2. Trae Waynes 3. Eric Kendricks 4. Jalen Collins 5. Arick Armstead 6. Landon Collins I'd be happy with any of these, but that's a close order of preference for me. I'm under the assumption that Beasley and Cooper/White are not available, so I did not include them. In the second round, we'd be going after a speedster receiver like a Phillip Dorsett.
I like Kendricks as well, and I think we could trade back a few spots and still pick him up. He would give us a nice three down MLB that can drop into coverage. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-DA1YlRC75c" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I highly doubt they consider drafting a developmental QB again this year. They already have 3 QBs including a developmental one in Savage.
I wouldn't waste a 1st round pick on CB at this point except they plan to cut Joseph. Texans have enough backup CBs that could become starters in a year.
Will do when I get a chance. Haven't seen it, to be honest. Pretty much everyone has bad games, though. I remember people nitpicking the Baylor game Khalil Mack had. Didn't mean much except Art Briles did some heavy game planning around him.
I forgot to add to this post last month that McKinney was also a high school QB... I saw in the off season thread the Texans are going to meet with McKinney. I hope they start listening to me for a change
If he's there in the second round, you have to take him. I don't see any way he is, though. Seems to be being mocked the late first more and more.
Jayson Braddock @JaysonBraddock Just finished watching Ty Montgomery. Don't understand how this kid isn't getting more attention. He's a bigger Percy Harvin. 2nd rd grade http://www.seniorbowl.com/prospect-profiles-view.php?p=675 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBdrCoLIJJU Could be a 2nd round selection.

While other scouts watched former Georgia players run the 40-yard dash, head coach Bill O'Brien ran a private workout with wide receiver Chris Conley, per Rusty Mansell at Dawgs247. Conley turned heads last month by running a 4.35 40-yard dash, posting a 45-inch vertical leap, an 11'7" broad jump and 18 reps on the bench press, helping himself move up the draft boards. His workout with O'Brien could put him in position for a mid-round selection by the Texans. http://georgia.247sports.com/Bolt/Texans-coach-Bill-OBrien-works-out-combine-star-Chris-Conley-36254675
