I really wish he would lose his password to Twitter. Nobody cares what you have to say nor takes you seriously, Evan. Twit.
He isn't... but it does echo that the most likely moves are not the ones being tweeted out every 5 seconds.
In the modern era Papelbon is the only additional player from my list and he didnt fetch anything close to VV, Appel and Marisnick. This isn't about not wanting Kimbrel but if that above offer is the cost of freight then the Astros should look somewhere else for bullpen help. That package should bet you more than Kimbrel who hasn't gone more than an inning in a game since 2012. All of those guys you listed could go multiple innings and were starters at some point.
Makes sense, prices are high and no ones blinking yet so teams are trying to use the specter of the Astros deep farm system to scare other teams into acting now.

Happy that Crane is willing to pony up the dough but if Luhnow isn't interested than neither am I. I tend to think Luhnow is probably after an incremental upgrade like Benoit or McGee.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">More on Kimbrel: Now told <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Yankees?src=hash">#Yankees</a>’ talks for him broke down yesterday and have not revived today. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Marlins?src=hash">#Marlins</a>’ Capps an option, as others say.</p>— Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) <a href="https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/627154833200545792">July 31, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Jake McGee would be great and hopefully not come at the cost of Chapman or Kimbrel. His K rate is over 12 per 9ip. If the Astros could get two of him for the cost of one of the big time closers, then that helps the team have more options in close games and really shortens the game.
LOL at twitter. 11:21 AM - Rosenthal states that the Yankees are team hottest in pursuit of Kimbrel. 11:33 AM - Rosenthal states that actually, the Yankees haven't talked with the Padres since yesterday.
speaking of capps, dude has such an odd delivery <iframe src='http://m.mlb.com/shared/video/embed/embed.html?content_id=73287783&topic_id=21753540&width=400&height=224&property=mlb' width='400' height='224' frameborder='0'>Your browser does not support iframes.</iframe>
