The 3 others not relevant is usually who winds up making the trade a steal for the other team.

Never wanted Hamels. Never understood why people were enamored with him. He's clearly in decline and would never have been worth it. I'd rather go with our guys than give away talent for a guy in decline.

Yep... and even with all those discrepancies that usually favors the more "experienced" team... we're the ones in first place and 9 games ahead of them.

Oh it is definitely 3 and some had Asher much higher than others. As high as top 15 in the organization.

Actually, you are right, they got Thompson, wayyyy too much, i dont agree with that. Guys, Hamels was not having a great year, too many good players going to Phillies, number 2, 3 and 5th prospect, wowwwwww

He's not in decline... yet... but is likely to get there at some point for the duration of his contract.

The Astros just have a golden opportunity THIS year... which means any/all talent that can help the big league club NOW is going to potentially go a long way towards winning it all.

Anyone who doesn't sign with us will ultimately regret it.

I wouldn't say he is a better prospect than Phillips but definitely the most exciting of the group the phillies got. But it is a good indicator that we were probably putting Phillips in a deal for hamels. I say a big thank you to Texas if that was the cost.

Top catching prospect Jorge Alfaro, left-hander Matt Harrison, outfielder Nick Williams and minor league right-handers Alec Asher and Jake Thompson will be shipped to the Phillies, sources said.

Hope it works out for them about as well as beating us out for Choo did.

Would be fun to trade for Price for less, then re-sign him in the offseason. Doubt the Rangers would enjoy seeing that too much.

Should go for Gomez. Wilmer Flores is not good at all and Wheeler???? Lololol Doug Melvin, this guy needs to be taken advantage of.

Rangers had to give a good amount of prospects . Philly might even throw more cash to the Rangers also taking Harrison's salary.

A lot of people are saying we offered a better deal but Hamels said no
