I miss Richard Justice. He would troll for hits on his blog but just his game stories alone were light years ahead of the 3rd grade drivel from Drellich and Ortiz. Heck, can we get Lavine back?
Even Alan Truex wasn't as big of a douche in the 90s as our current beat writers. At least when he went after the Astros it was related to on field talent, not petty shots at the organization.
Drellich was the only one Tweeting that he wasn't seeing a lot of Astros fans in Cooperstown when nearly every other person that was there was commenting on how impressed they were with how many were there.

Something tells me Brian Smith going back to more baseball coverage and Aaron Wilson being added to the staff will lead to Drellich being reassigned or just leaving. The Chronicle seems to want to improve its sports coverage to save itself as a news medium.
Good, Shark was just not someone I would give up good prospects for. Too up and down, not a fan. I would love to know the reasons why Cole would take a trade to the Rangers, pitch in that hot ass ballpark but a big NO to Houston.
I'll just be in shock that a player like Hamels, who has an opportunity to win big again, would block a trade to Houston. I mean, it's one of the largest cities in the country with some of the best food and entertainment one could ask for...plus, it's not like he'd be forced to live here year round. It just makes no sense at all to me that this is even an issue.
I think he is gambling that if he plays hard ball with Houston that LA will swoop in and offer more than Tex at the last minute. Pitching in LA is better for his numbers and way of life.
Are there any deals out there where we can send one of our disappointing players at the major league level for another teams struggling player? Like the Lima for Milecki trade in 2001 that really helped the Astros down the stretch. I guess you could call it a change of scenery trade. On an unrelated note to the above, anyone think the Astros could surprise everyone and acquire Freddie Freeman from the Braves?
