BOOM! Its either about to get really exciting now or next year. Hopefully now and for the next years to come.

@leilarahimi and another one named Rico. Don't understand the talk about bullpen. Astros have 5 decent to great relievers. Feliz will be with team shortly.
It's simply about improving talent If there is a deal that can be made that makes us better, he will do it We have more prospects than we can protect anyway
Getting a Chapman is about getting a talented guy..in other words quality. Saying could use another bullpen arm is about bringing in depth. If Astros felt they needed a bullpen arm, Feliz fixes that.
Riley Ferrel could also present a nice bullpen option, wont shock me to see him sent to Lancaster or Corpus soon.
Yeah, I agree. And with the innings cap, perhaps VV will be our long reliever. Only way we add a bullpen arm, IMO, is if we get a great price on a phenom arm, i.e., Chapman or Kimbrel. I don't see that happening, frankly, nor do I think we add a middle-of-the-road bullpen arm. We have enough arms in our farm to outsource at this point. Maybe even bring up Appel if he finds some consistency.

Of course the Astros should still be looking... they haven't parted with any of the minor leaguers people have readily discussed, and they're going to need to move the excess of the farm anyways.

I know extremely unlikely, but could you imagine if Luhnow pulled off another deal for a SP like Samardzija? Keuchel/Samardzija/Kazmir/McCullers in the playoffs would be something special.. As others have mentioned, we really didn't lose much in the Kazmir deal- still plenty to offer.
I agree, but at the same time, I feel like I'd MUCH rather have a bat. In the playoffs, you can get away with using 3 starters often enough. If you had Keuchel/Kazmir/McCullers with McHugh and VV out of the pen and/or spot starting, that's pretty solid, especially with Keuchel coming back around earlier. With that tradeoff (not always needing the 4th starter in the playoffs) vs. a bat playing every day...I can't see moving legitimate prospects for Samardzjia over (insert bat)
I agree - I prefaced saying extremely unlikely. But man would that be sweet- would likely use McCullers/VV out of pen when needed. Pipe dream though. Wouldn't count on this. Davis seems to fit the mold of what the Astros currently are - strike out or hit a HR. I believe Luhnow said he'd like to get away from that when adding another bat to the lineup.
I think they're both flawed and I'd personally be a little reluctant to deal top prospects for either. Lind is absolutely abysmal against LHers (career .586 OPS); if it comes down to a single playoff game, toss a LHer and our big bat acquisition is essentially sidelined. As for Davis, here are his projections v Carter's: Davis: 587 PAs; 33 HRs; 58 XBHs; 61 BBs; 127 BBs + 1Bs; 182 Ks Carter: 579 PAs; 27 HRs; 45 XBHs; 75 BBs; 122 BBs + 1Bs; 193 Ks I mean... Davis is better, I guess - but appreciably, worth-prospects better?
