They're gonna have to figure out the innings limitations one way or another. As long as LMJ is included in the postseason roster, I'm sure he'd be fine with it.
Yes, unless someone goes on the DL, then you can come back early. And an option year is just that, a year, there's no limit on ups & downs. You have 3 option years, once those are used up you have to place a player on waivers before sending them down, and they can be claimed by any other team. However, if you use your 3rd option before you have completed 5 full seasons on the 40-man roster, you qualify for a 4th option year. If you spend fewer than 20 days total in the minors in a given season, it does not count as an option year.

I'm glad we held onto Marisnick. The guy will be a stud and is an elite defender. He's also pals-y with Springer so keeping the club house happy is important. He showed at the beginning of the year that he can hit for avg. Will be interesting to see if he can make the adjustements because he is a force/discruptor on the base paths and his fielding is just sick. Will be interesting to see how his role plays out this year. I see him and Tucker trading spot starts and rotating in and out behind Gomez and Rasmus. When Springer comes back we'll have: Gomez Springer Rasmus Tucker Marisnick It will be crowded with Springer, but they might ease him back slowly and we probably won't see much of him until September anyways. Let's be honest, Tucker is a DH. Maybe he could move to first but that's not for this year. Rasmus won't be back next year (or not likely...he's on a one-year deal). That means Marisnick will most likely get a chance to compete for a starting spot next year behind Springer & Gomez. Will be interesting and I think he can do it. my 2 cents
Well, he sure does seem like one of the guys in the tight knit group that make up this team. He was one of the first to jump the fence last night on the HR. It might not seem like too much for us sitting here on our computers, but if you are dominating your starts, living the major league life, spending everyday with your best friends...then they say, hey bro you are doing great but we need you to go to Fresno, ride a bus a bit...but don't worry, you will be back I mean he wouldn't have a choice but to do it, but i'm not sure he would be fine with it I seriously doubt that is the path they take. Maybe with VV, certainly not with Lance
not sure how that's chicken ****. The alternative would be to pull him at 60 pitches every time out, pitch him every alternate 5th day, or something of that sort. End result is the same in terms of innings pitched...you just end up losing a roster spot compared to the swapping option
We will just have to agree to disagree here, no big deal I think taking a guy who has been HUGE in your season, and shipping him down to AAA so he can ride a bus for a while, away from the atmosphere that he greatly helped to create, would be chicken**** Just my opinion, we will see how it is handled.
Makes you wonder what they were asking of the Stros. Considering the reports of them wanting a SS.....
Lol yea wish I had a recording of that conversation Preller: Yea Jeff, yall are doing great this year. Congrats on putting that roster together man Luhnow: Thanks A.J., it's been a geat year for sure. So I know you are talking about possibly moving Kimbrel, and maybe even Ross. We could possibly have interest and have a good system. What are you really looking for in moving those guys, Jim has told me I can take on some salary so we could help you out there for sure Preller: Yea Jeff, You put Kimbrel at the back of that bullpen, move Gregerson and Lidge back to the 8th and 7th and you could really shut people down at the end. I really don't want to move Ross to be honest, but I also know he would be the final piece for you winning a world series this year, and damn Jeff you would be the biggest hero in Houston if you did that. Bigger than Morey, bigger than Keuchel, hell even bigger than David Carr the original QB down there. Luhnow: Well A.J., seems like you have had a few long days buddy, hope you are ok. In any case, we would be willing to put Appel in a deal for those guys. Not easy to move recent #1 overall picks, but for those two we could do that. I know you are also looking for offensive upside, and we have a lot of OF depth. DJ Fisher could be moved, we would talk about Tony Kemp who would give you some flexibility, even a Nolan Fontana who could step in and be your SS this year even. Also have some high upside arms like Paulino and Bostic. Lot of options man, what you thinking. Preller: Yea Jeff, I think we can make something work out here, seems like we match up well. We could use a good OF and being hurt right now doesn't kill us so much, as we are looking towards the future. And you are right, if we are gonna move a stud starter and the best closer of our lifetime, we probably do need to upgrade SS. I could probably consider Correa, Springer, McCullers and Velasquez for Kimbrel and Ross. We could also talk about sending yall upton if you would throw in a couple of those upside arms you talked about, and get Crane to kick in some cash? Luhnow: I can't even formulate human words to express what i'm thinking at this moment AJ. Do you realize how much of my time you have wasted the last two weeks you worthless ****. I wish you would put down your phone and come right here, right here to my office. I'd like to look you straight in the eye and tell you what a cheap, lying, no good, rotten, snake licking, dirt eating, inbreed, overstuffed, ignorant, blood sucking, dog kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat assed, bug eyed, stiff legged, spotty lipped, worm headed, sack of monkey **** you are!!! Halleluah!! Holy ****!! Where's the Tylenol??
Years ago, the Braves were asking for Biggio, Caminiti, Cameron Drew (look him up) and some other top prospect for an over the hill Dale Murphy.
Considering what trade offers Luhnow made that were released last year, I can't get too upset with Preller.
Whoever it was that gave me hell for sayin Hamels was a dime a dozen and not even near worth what they wanted....just take a look at his outing tonight.
Other than a few crazies, everyone here knows how good Cole is He could have been here if he wanted to, he didn't F Him
I prefer Kazmir so Mr. Hamels, continue your struggles in Texas. Now, on another note, SD should be a great partner with us. They need a 1b with power, Singleton? And a SS, Villar??? I still like Singleton, but, if we are not going to use him, well, here we have a trading partner.
So, will you come back and eat crow if he pitches 8 scoreless innings next outing? The guy just came off a no hitter too. Not every one of his starts will look great, but most of them are pretty solid.
