Really don't see how the Reds wouldn't have traded Aroldis.

Padres biggest loser of the deadline? Gut their farm system for a bunch of pieces that don't fit together. Then instead of getting some value back from this past summer's stupidity, make the price tag too high on all of your players at the deadline.

Glad I'm not a Padres fan.

No Chapman, no Kimbrel...I'm still happy with this team. Now LonghornFan finishes work.

That seems really strange to me too. I wonder if some of these GMs (Padres, Reds) got too greedy for their own good, and ended up missing out.

Well...I think we have our team. Would have been a formidable bullpen with Chapman or Kimbrel...but I think Qualls is going to be our ace in the hole down the stretch

Considering what other teams gave up to get their "Ace", and the fact that we already enjoyed 14.2 of scoreless innings from Kaz, I am glad to come away with:

    Kaz
    Gomez
    Fiers

    for

    Phillips
    Nottingham
    Mengden
    Santana
    Houser
    Hader

IMO, the only true losses were Nottingham and Phillips, maybe Hader. Santana may enjoy some success, but it was never going to be with our team. Houser and Mengden are bullpen arms at best.

    Good deadline.

And it was revealed that Walt Jocketty was acting like a penis during negotiations.

Hopefully, the Cardinals will disclose what the Astros were offering for Kimbrel.

I'm fine with standing pat. Would have liked to add a backend guy but am ok.

Still can find someone post waiver.

Controlled through next year. If they didn't get what they wanted, I woudln't have moved him either

Kazmir and Gomez make this team a World Series contender. I'm more than satisfied that Luhnow didn't budge on overpaying.
