Williams has that good habit of keeping the ball where he catches it and going up quickly, rather than "winding up" and bringing it down waist-level and gathering before the shot. Keeps it away from defenders.

IIRC, the D-League Select team did pretty well at the 2014 Vegas Summer League. I don't know about this year's team, but they may well win some games.

These D-League players can out-perform NBA-affiliated teams with draftees on them because the D-League Select guys tend to be older than recent draftees and have some professional experience either in the D-League or overseas. Draftees, even those who go on to be very good NBA players, often have jitters and don't really dominate in their first few games.

And the Houston Rockets team last night was basically a "D-League Select" situatio-- with Johnson, Capela, Harrell and Dekker sitting out it was all D-Leagues and undrafted rookie Alan Williams.
