I agree that is would have been great to get a PG but at this point in the draft your getting into role player/backup type talent. The PG we need won't be a rookie drafted in the middle of the draft - the odds of that working out are low BUT the odds of this pick making one of our SFs expendable in a trade are a lot better. I can dig the pick...

My first thought was that it would make the trading of Ariza much more palatable...but you may be right on in terms of letting brewer go...I think everything brewer does well, so does does dekker( not quite as good in the open floor), and I think dekker doesn't gamble as much defensively or offensively in transition....dekker with an extremely low turnover rate. This team could use some of that.
Morey made a mistake letting Tarik Black go last year. We missed out on the fearsome Black and Dekker combo.

Watched the mock draft on NBATV last night and several guys doing the picking said that if Dekker could shoot the ball better he would be an all star.

Just showed my financee clutches highlight videos on him, she said good pick... He moves without the ball seems smart, rockets need a player like that.
He obviously just worked out as the pic is taken in the weight room so he's "pumped" and will be temporarily more ripped than he really is.
This is the NBA mo. Versatile players that are better at improvising than running a set offense. Guys like Parsons, Green, Middleton are guys that were stat stuffers in college but not dominant on the college level. Some players are better suited for the wide open NBA game and the Rockets have a method at identifying who those players are. The college game is just too compact.
