My mom and stepdad have a trip planned three weeks from now in Puerto Vallarta. I'm thinking "have" will soon become "had". I went to P.V. years ago. If you look in the distance on that live stream you see some rock formations, say, 50 meters or so from the coastline. I think we stayed at a hotel over in that direction. I also think that hotel just might be in for some major reconstruction soon. Hopefully loss of life will be as minimal as possible. I mean, damn, 200 mph winds? That's nuts. And then we get to look forward to this adding to our rain event Saturday - Monday.
It has strengthened and sped up. Here a link, La Manzanilla Beach Cam. Very, very close to where the eye will cross. http://www.lamanzanilla.info/web_cam.html
Just finished watching The Weather Channel's update. It looks as if it's going to hit further north either very close to Puerto Vallarta, or perhaps in between Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo.
Hurricane Patricia is now the most powerful hurricane ever in this region of the Pacific. It will make landfall in a few hours. The remnants of the hurricane will bring moisture and rain our way into the weekend.

So what does this mean for Houston? You know, since us American's only care about our own well-being.
