So when did they decide he wasn't healthy enough to play. And why did they wait to him getting dressed to tell him? I would be upset too. Makes you wonder how many games he wanted to play but the coaches forced him to sit out.

Did it ever cross your mind that the coaches and training staff are the ones keeping him out of practice the same way they are keeping him out of games?

The only reason why he was kept out was because Clowney wanted it that way...Every coach wants you to play if you can. And if Clowney gives a wishy washy response to the trainer/coaching staff, they will think you are NOT ready to go and will try again tomorow. Now all of a sudden on game day, Clowney now is much more assertive and feels his body is ready to go, which coach is going to tolerate that???

He isnt a 10 year pro., who in my book would get much more leeway when it comes to injuries...He is a second year rookie, who still wasnt healthy enough for the season. Once the medical team cleared him saying that there was NO structural deformities to the foot (sometime last week), its on Clowney to rest up and to get on the field before the weekend inorder to show something for the coaches..so when game day rolls around, he doesnt have to throw a hissy fit when coaches say you are inactive.

PS. I was/am a huge supporter of Clowney as a player...think he has that special talent, but he sure as heck needs to grow up.

Strong didn't practice well but contributed late in the season.

Clowney was listed as day to day and questionable all week. He now feels well enough to play. I can see both sides. But I'd rather him be angry about not being able to play then shrug his shoulders and say aww shucks.

He's 22 years old. Let's not forget what we were doing and how we reacted about certain things at that age.

Staying healthy and practicing/playing is part of what makes great players great.

He's still young... But he still has s ways to go to figuring it all out.

If JJ Watt PRACTICES with a broken hand, there is NO reason Clowney cant atleast get on the field prior to game day. Next point, he isnt a 10 year vet, he has to earn his stripes in that lockerroom with players and coaches. Just on my limited experience with him as a fan, it totally seems like he wants to play on game days, but gives practice the middle finger. That seems to be his MO...

You are the #1 overall pick, and just threw a hissy fit for not being able to play. He stormed out of the facility and left the stadium...How do you expect teammates to respect you after something like that? That shows immaturity and a lack of commitment to the team. If Bill's all about the team, something like this would really tick him off. There is a reason why there are reports that Clowney will return before kickoff... bc if he didnt come to show his support to those that are on the field...he doesnt deserve to be a Texan much longer.

He lost weight, hit the gym and was PRACTICING during the week. Its why he is on the field. Doesnt matter whether you practice well or poorly, but rather just being there is sometimes all that matters for some coaches. I can totally see Bill being like that.

Not playing? Too soft, get rid of him.

Storms out due to not playing? Distraction, trade his ass.

    You guys are a hoot.

Lol. Sure. National media reporting one thing local media reporting another. And if he was playing would he have left to give his family tickets? Shouldn't this have been handled the night before?
