Lol jeez the Cal League (notably HD and Lancaster) can be so ridiculous at times 20 runs; 7 homeruns. Musgrove on the mound; 2IP 3H 1R 0BB (shocker) 2K so far
He has to have a terrible BABIP. Still showing a great walk rate, and a reasonable K-rate, but also showing no power. Meanwhile Folty has pitched well for the Braves.
I saw Folty against the Braves. He was reaaaaally good. I was surprised. Still doesn't know where he's throwing the ball sometimes but he looked good. He was throwing high 90's in the 7th inning.
Update on this: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">For all of you who are concerned, Tony Kemp said he's fine. Just a bruised knee from a late slide into a base. Joe Musgrove allowed 2 runs in 4 innings, but he did have a significant cushion to work with. He struck out 5, giving him a 59:1 K:BB ratio in 49.2 innings this season.
Carlos Correa not in the lineup. They would want you to believe that he's getting a day off, but do you really believe that? <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">6/1 at <a href="https://twitter.com/okc_dodgers">@okc_dodgers</a> LF Grossman DH Presley 3B Duffy RF Santana 1B Singleton CF Hoes 2B Sclafani C Heineman SS Fontana SP <a href="https://twitter.com/AsherWojo">@AsherWojo</a></p>— Fresno Grizzlies (@FresnoGrizzlies) <a href="https://twitter.com/FresnoGrizzlies/status/605491569320325120">June 1, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Boo. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">It's OK, just like Ferris Bueller, Carlos Correa is also entitled to a day off. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/EndingTheSpeculation?src=hash">#EndingTheSpeculation</a> <a href="http://t.co/D8KyKndKAb">pic.twitter.com/D8KyKndKAb</a></p>— Fresno Grizzlies (@FresnoGrizzlies) <a href="https://twitter.com/FresnoGrizzlies/status/605495001385025536">June 1, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Soooo... Over the last 3 games Lancaster has averaged 16.3 Runs, and over the last 11 they have averaged 10.5. These are beer league softball numbers. 8 of the games were either at the Hangar or High Desert which are stupidly hitter friendly.
At some point, I'd hope they try to switch to an affiliate that mitigates some of these effects... I know they haven't had to worry too much about players getting affected one way or the other, but I also don't know how much they're really getting out of sending their good pitching prospects there (and it seems that they're trending towards minimal exposure there... which wouldn't happen if they had a more neutral playing environment).
