Funny how in years past you could project the prospects to the Astros big league club. Now i just don't know who to project. Santana, Philips, Tucker, Springer, et. etc...... There are so many talented guys. And if Astros pick Tucker in the draft, that is another supreme talent in the outfield. And it is the same with the infield and pitchers. so much talent and potential. there isnt just one guy there. Great time to be an Astro.
I really think we are going to have to get more used to the idea that we might let guys go/trade guys who go on to be productive for other teams. We will soon have more talent in the minors than we can protect and will have to start trading some of those guys for major league talent or other, better prospects. When that happens, there are bound to be guys like JD Martinez who go on to be good for someone else. I hope people have enough perspective to realize that seeing that happen doesn't necessarily meant he Astros are inept, just that they have an embarrassment of riches in the minors right now, and it has to go somewhere.
Daren Willman is the man behind MLBFarm.com. This Chron article from last year (behind a paywall but since this tweet is from the Chron, it'll be free) says that he is the lead software architect at the Harris County DA's Office.

Here's an updated link to the @HoustonChron about http://t.co/eeJXXQL1U6 and http://t.co/9cXzuTyQiS. Similar result to the major league club but with a different profile (more BA and OBP rather than HRs and SB). End result is all that matters but I like the power and speed combo at the major league level.

Reed is probably on his way pretty soon, no reason to keep Nash. No big loss, he just couldn't stop striking out.

Also, Jake Nottingham just his his 8th homer of the season in the 1st game of a doubleheader for Quad Cities. He's 4-4, and for now, his OPS is over 1.000. The River Bandits dropped Game 1 8-6 as Peoria scored 7 in the 6th inning. Game 2 is coming up... Francis Martes will be on the hill.
Brett Phillips also 4-4 with a double and HR, hit a HR yesterday too. Would like to see them get rid of Meredith or find a way to fit Aplin onto Fresno so we can get a better representation of his power. I'm sure we'll see him in AA by the all-star break. It sucks because you don't want to rush guys but some are just hitting so well it seems like wasting time leaving them down.
Glad Musgrove and Mier appear to be turning the corner while still with the Astros. Just blown away by Musgroves numbers. Can you imagine how people would have reacted if it was Appel with those numbers?
D.J. Fisher has driven in all 3 runs for Quad Cities in game 2 of their doubleheader. 2 of those 3 came on a home run (his 6th) that gave the River Bandits the lead. Francis Martes has allowed 2 unearned runs on 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4 over 5 innings.
Not technically Astros related but still...

Wow! Look at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock. Seeing on Twitter that Danry Vasquez is apparently moving up to Corpus. Haven't heard anything from McTaggart or the club concerning this, though.
