Fangraphs has been talking about Martes in the 50 range trending up. Idk if yall saw the chat but McDonald I believe said he's heard scouts equate him to Dillion Tate. Given his trajectory and age it's plausible top 20 I think. He said that his slider has gone from fringey to easy plus, jumped in fb velocity, working on a change, and has stats to back everything up all while being 19. Dude has serious potential whatever his ranking is.
I apologize for not spelling things out for you. If Martes were on top of our prospect ranking, gee, where do you think that would put him overall? I don't know, maybe around the top 20? Genius.

By MLB rankings, our current top prospect is #25. Does that count as being close to 20, college grad?

You seem rattled, sure if Bregman ends the season as a top 30 guy and if Martes passes him, Tucker, Appel, Daz etc. Then according to 1 prospect ranking he is close to top 20. But pretty much anyone with a brain knows the mlb.com rankings are the worst rankings out there, so if thats what you want to go with, then sure. Martes may be a top 20ish prospect? I mean if the astros go undefeated the rest of the year theyd be the best team ever. If I could jump 50 inches id be in the nba. Martes finishes in the 50-75 range on most lists and id be happy to bet money on this also.

Further Keith Law has discussed on ESPN that Martes is a guy scouts think can break top 50 and even top 20 lists with a strong finish and good start next year.
