Ferrell will be taking the spot Qualls used to occupy by season's end.

    A draft class with

    Bregman
    Tucker
    Cameron
    Eschelman
    Farrell
    Sandoval

Leading the way, would be the BEST class under the new draft rules that were apply a few years ago, and maybe never match ever again. It seem like everything fell perfect for the Astros that took luck and the money they had help.

Would rather Sands than Sandoval but I am not gonna be greedy, if we can get either one of them it would be a coup.

I don't think we will have that much unless Daz signs for less than the 4 million, or we sign Eshelman to an underslot deal.

Quite the draft class based on pure potential. But this is baseball where 40 guys get drafted and most have their dreams dashed by the reality of pro baseball high level of play.

But as excited about this class as any in quite a while.

I'm not high on Bregman. I just don't think he'll hit for any kind of average, and certainly no power. I hope I'm wrong, but I think we overpaid for that guy. I'd rather have saved $$ by drafting Benintendi or Carson Fulmer. Then we could have signed some of the guys like Sands, Sandoval and maybe Baker.

I agree with you. I am not a big fan of Bergman.

Benentendi has a quick bat. The only thing I was concern about him was his height for an everyday outfielder...Bregman,Rogers, or Swanson were the top 3 guys in top. Carson Fulmer will burn out sooner rather than later. I think Astros did the smart choice and took a SS who hardly strikes out.

No but he took FSU '19 off of his twitter profile and changed both his pictures to Astros stuff... so I imagine it is pretty close.

I expected that Thomas Eshelman will sign officially early next weekend and that Daz will signed officially shortly afterwards.

Given the screwup last year with Nix, I assumed that the Astros have been doubly cautious with Cameron.

it has been rumored that Sands told friends that he was going pro. I think that has been mentioned previously on this very thread.

After Daz signs, the Astros will be certain what is left in the kitty for signing the three HS pitchers. Despite what these HS pitchers have said, I think all are signable given the right number.

If there is enough money left, the Astros might even be able to sign two of them. $0.5 million for Sandoval and $1 million for either Baker or Sands.

As a point of reference, $1 million is the slot value of the #61 pick and $0.5 million is the slot value of the #113 pick.

Eshelman might very well sign for a significant underslot deal.

It would not surprise me if the Astros drafted Eshelman in the second round with this in mind, since they may wanted to lock in slot savings to safely guarantee Cameron's signing.

He'll sign for $1 million. That's a number I conjured from out of thin air without any research into what players drafted around his position got/will be getting.

No way Baker passes up TCU for $1 mil. This was an all American HS player. He'll be a top 5 pick in a few years. Astros want him they'll have to offer him a deal like one. It still might not be enough

We're not talking about the same person, it appears.

    Eshelman's signing for tree fiddy?
