Great win for UT. They were very well prepared and played with passion and energy. When Shaka Smart gets his type of players in the program, UT basketball should have a good run for a while. I'm assuming he will recruit better than Rick Barnes did his final years.
He fouled out with 2 mins left in the 4th. I wasn't at the game. From the box score, seems like he didn't do a lot.
I watched Ohio State get plastered by UConn last week. Can't believe they actually beat Kentucky. Their physicality was impressive today.
Oakland (Michigan) just put 50 on #1 Michigan State in the 1st half. I doubt they can keep up the great shooting but it was very entertaining. They have a 5'9 guard that MSU can't keep up with. MSU looks completely lost and uninspired without Valentine.
The Spartans survived in OT and are still #1 for now. OU Sooners escaped last night against Hawaii and are still unbeaten. They will also play Harvard tomorrow. I'm very interested in the Big 12. I still predict KU Jayhawks will win that conference. It's a strong conference and I can see about 5 or 6 teams making it to the NCAA tournament. I also think this could a big year for Kelvin Sampson's UH Coogs. UH have a chance to make some noise in the American Conference if they can beat SMU and the Bearkats one time each. That will improve their chances to making it to the Field of 68. They really need to take advantage of UConn's and Memphis' current struggles/decline before they both get back to being a powerhouse once again.
He didn't, our defense held him way in check, but let Hornsby go off. I was just wondering if anyone has noticed that UH is 11-2. Granted only one truly impressive win (against the Tigers), but we have three ranked teams on our schedule and with a good showing against those teams, could very well make the tourney.
Big game tonight in the Big XII on ESPN. KU Jayhawks vs. OU Sooners It starts at 8:00 pm CT after the UNC-FSU game.
1 of the 2 losses was a bad loss against Grand Canyon. That's going to hurt their resume. So yeah I think they need to beat SMU, Cincy, UConn, and Memphis one time (or twice) to improve their record.
