You want to talk about "crazy" Lin fans and their antics or so? Go create another thread in the hangout or d&d and I will respond to you there when I have time. People like me prefer to spend more time to discuss Lin's basketball games instead of worrying other players, GMs, fanbases or races being "cyber bullied" or humiliated by a group of "crazy" fans.
Nothing against you freemanian as I assume you have a rational view of Lin. Since the season hasn't started and the preceding discussion was about his fans my response was appropriate. You claimed that people pose as Lin fans to make his fans look worse. Maybe you think that because you have a healthy appreciation for him as a player. Regardless, it's impossible to deny that the majority of his fans are irrational and have worked to ruin the fan sites of the teams he has played for. Bizarro Ziggy should expect the worst.
Your best chance to save your site from being dominated by lunatics is to confine the LOF to one thread. Learn from our experience. There's no rationalizing with them.
I thought there was some guy created two accounts on lakernation with one pretends to be Lin Fan and the other as Lin hater. He got banned by the mod or something. Someone mentioned it here. haha there is your proof.
You are gonna get hit with a lot of crazy s*** from crazy fans. You have to hope none of your players has a bad night because all hell will break loose.
A few more tidbits. -Lin will constantly drive into the lane, jump into the air with no idea where he is going, and turn the ball over. Like this is his pet move. His low BBIQ is really a standout. He just doesn't understand NBA offenses and defenses and what happens when people rotate. -I actually have, what I presume, is a Lin fan who assumes my username, and posts racist things about Jeremy Lin on other forums. I honestly believe this person has a mental disorder and does not know they are doing it. They honestly believe that there is a true persecution of Jeremy Lin and need to assume alternate personalities to make it a reality. -There are a couple hack writers that make their living capitalizing on this rapid fan base, for clicks. Two come to mind: Chris Baldwin of Culturemap Houston and Paul Villareal (aka PhiSlammaJamma or HotRocks). You are certain to find some small town Charlotte bloggers who will try to make a living selling out for clicks. My advice to you is too tag all new forum users who joined in July of 2015. If you can enable a mass ban or mass lockdown feature, for the love of god do it.
Are you a drinking man? If not, start. I suggest you go to Costco, and buy plenty of whatever cheap liquor you can stomach. The season is 82 games, possibly more if you make the playoffs (in the East, anything is possible). Watching Jeremy Lin is the most frustrating thing in the world. You think he's got it, he's throwing some nice passes, hustling. You remember Linsanity and the t-shirts. Then, a turnover. And another. And another. He jumps in the air and loses the ball. He bricks it once. Twice. An airball. Another turnover. He starts to look less like Linsanity and more a chicken with his head cut off. Your team better be up by a good margin, because no lead is safe. And yeah, plus your forum is going to get crazy. My suggestion? Make one thread to try to isolate it. Tag any user who signed up from July 2015 onward, and don't let them start threads until they've earned it with good posting.
You are so ****ed. Being serious. In the mind of LOF, Lin can do no wrong. I give it a week before they turn on Kemba and start making threads about how Lin should be starting. You guys gotta make all Lin related discussion go in one thread.

No, I've seen those posts and partially agree that the Clippers thing could've been handled better. Regarding Clutch, I know this board is his life work and what many Lin fans did must've been a real nightmare and extremely frustrating to handle for him, so I understand that he takes shots at them from time to time (although one can argue if he should just let it go and restrict the Lin threads here or ban certain users from them to at least make them about basketball instead of a troll fest). Reading dang's posts in this thread (excluding the Clutch one) he hasn't done any trolling, tries to be objective and respectful, even when being offended by some posters purely because of his sympathy for Lin and posts that have nothing to do with the topic. He's certainly not the one that gives a negative notion to this thread. Some of you really have to seperate the past/other threads from the actual posts done in the actual thread.
The GARM (Game Action and Roster Moves) section which is where the main Rockets talk takes place was an absolute disaster for the time Lin was here. Constant bickering and headache. Their will be LOF (Lin only fans) who will wish for the failure of your team's star players because they are holding back Lin from realizing his potential of being Jordan 2.0. I actually think Lin could be a good bench player but his legions off fans just ruined the boarding experience for me that I was counting the days until he left. Good luck with your board.
That forum seems pretty dead. LOF will probably migrate over to RealGM once they figure out they have no one to complain to.
