I won't say it is nothing but Leicester has a budget of close to 150 million Euro. While it is nothing in the PL I think there are a lot worse teams budgetwise in the group stage of the Champions League. Good thing they had huge TV deals for everyone over in England.
What a remarkable feel good story. It's unfortunate that they'll get bounced out of the CL group stages though, with key player being recruited by bigger club$. But we'll see, everyone on that team is like 30 so teams might hold back. But Mahrez will be 26 next season and will be getting a huge payday somewhere. I would love for LFC to throw everything they have at Mahrez, and maybe Schmeichel too since Mignolet is a bag of pure schitte. Hell Mahrez could probably work with Harden in the backcourt.
I agree with Raz and ATW. Regarding rotating players: He didn't really do this at Dortmund and isn't known for constantly changing line-ups, my guess is he's really frustrated with the inconsistent Liverpool players and still trying to find the right formation and line-up. If Liverpool owners open their pockets this summer, he should find some players that fit his strategy and then rotate or do questionable stuff much less.
I don't get it. What is "questionable" about Klopp's rotations? He's rotating because he wants to have his best players fit for the Europe League matches. The winner of the EL plays in the Champions League the following season, and Liverpool have no chance at getting to the top 4 in the PL.
His EL rotation... at least the lineup he fielded against Villarreal was questionable. He had a fully healthy Sturridge ready to kickass, and didn't start him. He may be brittle, but he gets goals. Then he kept at it until the end of the game, and even opted for Benteke in the 90th. Should have put in Sturridge much earlier in the second half. Maybe he wanted to match Villarreal's style with speed by putting Lallana, Firmino, and Coutinho up front. But that obviously didn't work out and he should have made better adjustments after 45 minutes.
Stories like Leicester are what make sports so incredible. Being Houston sports fans, I think we all have a pretty good understanding of what Leicester fans must be feeling right now. Sheer happiness and glee mixed with disbelief that it's YOUR team that gets to sit on top of the world.....just awesome stuff.
Line-ups for tonight are in, Pep finally came to his senses. Neuer-Alaba, Martinez, Boateng, Lahm-Alonso, Vidal - Ribery, Müller, Costa - Lewandowski. Great to see Bernat and Thiago on the bench, this is the best line-up possible.
I don't have a good feeling. I don't trust Alonso. Stupid Guardiola put us into a real hole in the first match.
Great sh**. He's been good last week though, so I'm okay with him playing. Has also been great in the first 30min today.
