Neither Blue nor Sharks have ever won the cup. And both have had very strong teams. Blues have only missed the playoffs 8 times in their 48 seasons, yet no cup.
I think someone from the east is going to win this year. Pitt seems like the ideal choice, but I'm not sleeping on Tampa. They have the speed to make all 3 remaining teams work. If you're a believer of destiny, they'd you have to side with the Blues. Everything has gone well for them. Sharks are a nice story as well, though I think with them this is probably where the road ends unless Pavelski and/or Jones go nuts. Simply think the Blues are playing too well, and I think they are more talented overall.
The Sharks head to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in their franchise history, the team always have had great regular seasons to only disappoint in the playoffs over the years. They are waiting for the Winner of Game 7 between Tampa Bay/Pittsburgh.
I think the Pens win only their second cup in what was supposed to be a Crosby/Maklin dynasty. Should be a good series.
Dynasties are so much harder in NHL due to various matchups like having a hot goalie who can ruin top seeds from winning the cup. Kings & Blackhawks couldn't repeat, but they won multiple cups this decade.

Sad news in the hockey world. Hockey great, and former, Aero Gordie Howe died today. Some of you old codgers or your parents may have seen him play in Houston with his sons. I still have his WHA hockey card somewhere. For a city which lacks much hockey history, Houston was home to one of the best. The Gordie Howe Hat Trick will live on (a goal, an assist and a fight), but sadly, Mr Hockey has passed away. RIP.
