That was a terrible game to watch. At least Germany finally changed tactics a bit but seriously Götze needs to start in place of Özil because he is completely out of it. He can be amazing when on and I love his game but damn when he is out he is out. Otherwise it was a solid strategy shift for them but unfortunately I think the lackluster play of France brought Germany down. So little energy from both sides. Even the goal was just one nice header off of a set piece and not the result of anything impressive.

France overachieved based on expectation so I enjoyed their presence but what a whimper of an exit.

The game was basically Hummels' goal + the two Neuer hand/arm saves.

    STINKLANGWEILIG

    (but I'm pleased Germany won)

Someone tell the French team that they had a World Cup Quarterfinals match today.

Strolling around the field like its the preseason.

After what happened in 2010, France is becoming another title contender again.

France will only get better, their talent pool is ridiculous.

As talented as Thomas Mueller maybe I am still thinking Juergen Klinsmann, Oliver Bierhoff, Rudy Voeller, Gerd Mueller were much better.

    Maybe it's just me.

Nope - am in the UK. Though if we win I'm thinking of going to my family in Holland and watching it there. Let's see what happens tomorrow!

    Where are you?

USMNT still a long ways away from this level of the game. The speed and physicality is just incredible.
