Dude, how can you say/how do you know that he isn't a guy that would currently help the US team? I'm sure like you mentioned, you and ATW have seen more of the Munich II team in the lower league they are in but can you say you've seen as much or more of the US team than stipendlax, leroy & the other USA fans to know whether or how Green might be able to help the team? I gotta imagine the only person who has probably seen Green for the Munich II team AND has knows how he can and would help the USA team is Klinsmann. If Klinsmann thinks the kid can do the job then we just have to wait and see how that goes in the upcoming friendlies. Like you said he has no real experience yet except for a few minutes w/the 1st team and it is a bit weird but it seems like Klinsy felt it was a necessity to bring him in. We don't know if he has guaranteed him a WC place or not. Maybe Klinsmann just wants to see how he does in friendlies first. Regardless, the USA is not a Germany or Italy or Spain. It's like any other midtier national team and if there's a young talent in the pipeline, odds are he will be overhyped, and that's a definite if the kid plays for a top team like Bayern. Nothing to it, just the way it goes.
I think there were legal issues with him going to Europe before he was 18 since he didn't have a European passport. Teams can get around those rules but I don't think they put that much effort into it that often.
I didn't say "[anyone here] proclaimed him to be a savior". I said y'all are thinking it. I can't prove that, but I know y'all are thinking it. Y'all thought Adu was the savior, too. don't deny it. Lying is a deadly sin.
Just be glad that more and more up and coming players are choosing to play for team USA - our talent pool is getting deeper and deeper - which shortens the time for us to become the world power we are destined to be. DD
