I had to LOL when he threw the Wu-Tang for the children. The guy just seems like he enjoys life to the fullest.
She was amazing. The 2 American woman really disapointed. Another silver and Bronze medal for the Dutch. We will see if Wust can get another 3 medals.
Totally agree. Also, haven't seen anything on this being Sven's last Olympics, so it's possible he's back in 4 years for more (just focusing on the long distances) and could medal again.
I also haven't heard about this being his last olympics. He is 27 so I expect him to still be there in 4 years. Especially on th elong distances. You are Dutch to right? Where are you from?
This USA-Russia game is too crazy. Russia thought they had a go-ahead goal, but the net was dislodged. In international play, the net must stay in place. I thought the puck was redirected by a high stick at first.
Its funny how much more interesting Olympic hockey is to the casual sports fan than NHL hockey. I also think the bigger international rink helps unclog the action, and lends itself to less sloppy/physical play. Can anybody explain why the USA only had one guy taking those last few shots, while Russia rotated two? Was that just personal preference?
Woke up in time for the start of the 3rd period. Glad I did because my DVR wouldn't have caught the end. Great game.
Yeah, personal preference. The announcers had said that Oshie made the team in part because of his skill in shootout. He was our best guy for that situation and he was succeeding so they just kept putting him out there.
The IIHF adopted new shootout rules for the 2008 World Championships. So I think it was a matter of personal preference. Oshie was just filthy today.
Remember when Canada beat the USA in 2010 half the people in America were like "no one cares about hockey it's meaningless to them" but now winning I am not hearing the same sentiment.
