    It won't be.

Fox gets the 3pm (Dallas) game next year. If it was the Texans, the game would have to be on CBS.

Texans games against NFC opponents are sometimes broadcast on FOX.

Not when they're the away team.

Only games against NFC opponents at Reliant.

Easiest way to remember it is that CBS does all games for road AFC teams, Fox does all games for road NFC teams.

This was the projected SOS for this year:

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000137115/article/teambyteam-strength-of-schedule-for-2013

Now here is the current SOS for this year:

    http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/nfl-draft-scout/24315712/updated-nfl-draft-order-week-13

    Houston's was a predicted .473 , ended up being .556

That is a massive difference, higher than even the predicted toughest SOS (Panthers at .543). This shows just how worthless preseasons SOS rankings are in the NFL (and probably college too). I doubt the Texans end up with a more difficult schedule than they had this year. It would be almost statistically impossible.

Yeah, I remember someone saying the earliest we could play them on Thanksgiving would be 2022, but I don't know if that's right.

How would you (speaking to the group) feel if they drafted Derrick? I know he's putting up monster numbers but know nothing about him beyond that very surface-level appraisal, other than he's apparently considered an upper-echelon prospect.

Can you imagine if they fire no one *and* draft a Carr?...

(Note - I wouldn't have any issue with them drafting Carr if he graded out mentally and physically. Other than the dark cloud, I don't personally think David has any relevance.)

of course the teams we played have better records than predicted because we suck and they beat us. point being SOS prediction wasn't necessarily wrong it was us thinking we were any good.

It's been fun SNF. See you in another 9 years when we become relevant again

Suffice to say that would be a PR NIGHTMARE. And the last thing this franchise needs is bad PR with the fans.

I also heard the younger Carr has said some disparaging things about the Texans organization WRT how they treated his brother. Even if we wanted to draft him, it might turn into another Eli Manning/Chargers situation.

Didn't David throw like 78 TDs and 3 INTs his senior year? He was also considered an upper-echelon prospect.

    It probably is.

We play the Cowboys every 4 years, so 2014, 2018, 2022, 2026 are those years.

Within those games, they currently alternate home and road games... thus Texans will next be at Dallas in 2022.

CBS gets the pm (Cowboys) game in alternate years from Fox, but currently seem to be in the odd year rotation (meaning they would have the Cowboys in 2021 and 2023, not in 2022)... but I think they sometimes have back to back years here and there, so maybe they have the Cowboys game that year... not sure.

We do play the Lions again in 2016 (at Reliant) and 2020 (at Detroit)... so 2020 is a possibility for a Thanksgiving game.

Eh... most, if not all, playoff teams get at least one SNF game.

Also, in today's NFL, there's really no more prestige to that game vs. the Sunday afternoon game of the week... in fact, the Texans are less likely to get one of those for awhile vs. SNF.

That is a given and does not explain the entire difference.

We only account for 8% of the games played by our opponents.

I still contend that David would have been a much better NFL QB if it werent for the 5 Derek Newtons that were blocking for him. Granted, he lacked the dedication you see in greats such as Manning and Brady...but he had a very solid arm along with pretty good athletic ability.

If Derek graded out better in the the "caring enough to study game tape" section of the evaluation process, then I actually wouldnt mind him, despite the chaos it would cause among the fan base.

He had an unbelievable senior season, yeah. And prior to the proliferation of the current passing game model that's ruling football at every level, too.

The Texans ruined Carr; I will take that to my grave. Those 2002-3 seasons, where they left him in every game to take hit after hit... I think that physical/metal beating conspired with poor coaching to doom the guy. Maybe he fails regardless; he certainly had some shortcomings himself. But that regime did him not a single favor (other than drafting Andre Johnson).

I just watched his highlights on YouTube...he made some great throws...it's easy to forget that he had a cannon on him. It's just that he was partially disabled after a couple years.

####ing amen to that. I despise Monday night games, Thursday night games, and Sunday night games and hate bye weeks even more.
